Body:
1. knowing how to jump start a car is very helpful so you don’t get stranded accidently by running out your battery.
2. If you’re prepared with your own jumper cables it’s usually easy to find a helpful generous person to lend you a jump (their battery in their car).
3) If you have jump cables with you on the go, not only are you prepared to help yourself but you are also prepared to help someone else that might need a jumpstart for their car.
Transition: Explain what can cause your battery to die.
1) The usual battery drain is by leaving the on light or not shutting a door completely.
2) Accidently leaving your head lights on.
3) Listening to the radio for a long time when your car is turned off.
4) If all these examples have been avoided and you still have a dead battery, you could have a bad alternator, which is not charging your battery like it should be while you driving. Transition: Show how to jumpstart a car with battier boxes and jump cables.
1) Open both hoods of the cars.
2) Grab cables, put them on the dead battery first, making sure the negative and positive cables don’t touch at all.
3) Then proceed to put other end of cables on the other battery of the jumping car.
4) Leave cable on for at least a minute or so, and is helpfully to rev the engine a little to supply more amperage and help start the car faster.
5) Then once car starts, continue to remove the cables the same way you put them on still making sure the positive side and the negative side do not touch still.
6) Close your hood and you’re good to roll.
