The Girl Is Mine Analysis
“Baby Be Mine” and “The Girl is Mine” are similar songs in the album. “Baby Be Mine” features slow dance disco feel. I can hear drums, bass guitar, keyboard, vocals, and drum machine. The bass features rhythms towards the song while the guitar features short and not connected repeated phrase. The keyboard features harmony within the song. When it is combined with the vocals, it forms disco dance feel toward the song. The keyboard is well balanced and contrasts against the deep droning sound of the bass. Drums and keyboard tend to attack the lyrics because it comes forceful and hard. The drum machine keeps the beat stable and allows it to loop quickly. The vocals sing high and sharp. Overall, the song has a lot of instrumentation going which

The instrumentals have an underlying marching beat throughout the entire song. This is probably to imitate a movement rising up or oppression by the "soldiers and Nixon coming". The guitar takes on the voice of the uprising and the drums take on the voice of the oppressive soldiers. The verse loses the lyrical guitar in the background, while the chorus lessens the marching beat of the drum. This is done to give off conflicting ideas of being beaten down by the government and to incite an upheaval over the actions taken in Ohio. The instruments are used mostly to incite pathos in this song. In between each verse/chorus they play an instrumental except for the first verse transitioning into the chorus. CSNY played the song this way in order to give their main idea right away. The instrumentals are in place between the other segments of the song so that the audience has time to reflect upon the words between each transition. Since this song is only composed of a single verse and chorus and is still three minutes in length, I think that CSNY make their audience to focus a lot more on the song's words and meanings behind them.…

In the image "Going to the Olympics," by Frank Romero, he used specific images to symbolize the city of Los Angeles. In the top of the painting we can observe a couple of men fighting and a horse. The two men fighting might represent the effort that the city has made to get where they are at this point, while the horse might represent the power that the people have when they're together. It also shows five cars, each with a heart above, which might mean all the missions in California and how lovely the people of California is.…

In the song everything dies they took a guitar part from ---- and threw some lyrics on it with their own twist. The song was so beautiful it made ---- cry and I can understand why it truly is an amazing song. The guitar solo at the beginning of the piece is unexplainable: pure awesomeness. The vocals on this song have more of an alternative rock feel to it. In my opinion another strong asset to the songs are that they are sung in English, it helps me relate to the songs since English is the language I am most familiar with. The vocals are sung in a high pitch with a mellow tone which makes the tambre sophisticated.…
