The Giver Biography
The author of The Giver is Lois Lowry. She was born on March 20, 1937, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She published her first novel, A Summer to Die, in 1977. After this drama book, she wrote a few young adult books like Anastasia Krupnik, Number the Stars and The Giver. She was honored the Newbery Award for her novel Number The Stars in 1989. In 1993, her bestseller book, The Giver was filmed. In the recent years she authored more books including Son(2012) , Gooney Bird and All Her Charms (2013).
