The Glade Chapter Summaries

The Plot starts by Thomas waking up in a metal elevator that brings him to a place called The Glade, which is in middle of a Maze, He isn’t able to remember anything and has no clue where he is and is lost completely. Later he is revealed to a group of survivor’s and they tell him where he is, the place is known as the Glade. The leader of this group is Alby, which controls everything in the Glade. When a week passes the elevator opens to help the survivors with equipment or a new person with no memory of their life. The glaze is full of creatures and mysteries, one of the creatures are called the grievers. The people in the Glade have different task like the runners, they run in the maze everyday so what they did was record every movement so they could at least find an exit to the maze that they are stuck in. Suddenly the day after Thomas had ended up at the Glade, the sound of the elevator is heard and everyone runs to it when it opened up ,it was a girl
by the name of Teresa and a note was with her that said she was the last one ever meaning that they are not sending anything more

The character Thomas believes that him and Teresa have a strong connection like if they known each other while he sees in her in Acoma.
After her arrival everything started to go wrong the Grievers start attacking the glade at night. Our protagonist and Teresa start to make all these theories of how the movement could mean a word. Thomas and Minho decide to stay a night in the maze so they could se hoe it is in the maze and to take note. The character Thomas is stung by a Griever and the elevator sends a vaccine. The group finds the exit later on and run for it they find the exit and the end up at a lab with a lot of experiments by the company WICKED, our protagonist was almost murdered by Gally the antagonist which acted friendly for a while had thrown a knife to Thomas but the knife had hit chucky the youngest one because he jumped in front. Thomas kills Gally and they find out they are all orphans being tested for a vaccine of a virus break out. The story ends in a cliffhanger continuing in the scorch
trials.

The theme the author is trying to give the audiences is Friendship And Bravery. The reason there is friendship is that the characters have a lot of bonds that is built through out the story. Also all the new social interaction, which basically the people of the glade have even though, they don’t know each other. The second theme is bravery, to support this is that a lot of scenes in the story have bravery like when Thomas went to the maze at night was really brave, Another example which requires both is chucky he was brave to jump in front of Thomas and proved their friendship. That’s the author gives the audiences and to persuade them.
