The Golden Chain: A Creation Myth

A myth is a traditional story focused on explaining natural or social phenomena and often involving the supernatural. A Creation Myth is much like a Myth but differs because a Creation Myth explains the origins of earth and life on earth. Characteristics of creation myths and myths usually include no scientific description of any kind regarding the creation and destruction of the world, There is no definite place or dimension for their gods to live in, but some vague imaginations, and their gods have never been visualized in actual life because they are just the fictional stories of primitive minds. The characteristics of “The Golden Chain” that make it a creation myth include the presence of a supreme being Olorun and a sky-world because most cultures believe that life
Also it states that Obatala was bored and started to create clay models and then got even more bored when he realized there was no life in these models and only form. From there, Obatala decided to ask the almighty Olorun for a favor and Olorun was feeling generous and decided to breath fire and that same fire sparked life into the dull clay models Obatala made while he was bored and there came life as we know it. Not only life, but Olorun was also capable of spitting out a fireball that spun constantly and allowed us to live and thus the sun was created. I don't believe that there is anything I concur with in this creation myth. I want to argue that it would be ridiculous for Obatala to have seen the water from the sky world, considering it took him 7 days to get down there. I don't presume to be a mathematician, but the distance from the sky-world to the water must have been pretty far since it took him a remarkable 7 days. This could be true if his power was vision based since all orshiras had powers, but that's something I believe they would have pointed out, but in fact they never told us his special powers that he wanted to put in good use. I don't aspire to any parts of this creation
