‘The good life’ is something that we are all looking for, but sometimes, we don’t know exactly what that entails. Although they don’t agree on what makes power good, both texts depict the main power in their respected texts as being the wrong kind. This is shown in Animal Farm when slowly a group of animals assume themselves leaders and take control of the vulnerable animals which Orwell cleverly uses pigs for. Although subtle this points out that the ruling animals were pigs and therefore greedy by not using the power they possessed for the good of other animals. A not so similar leadership is shown in Truman Show through the character Christof. Weir shows Christof taking control of Truman’s life and although Christof justified it in himself, Weir changes that by showing that Truman wasn’t happy.
