Contemporary society has sent many different kinds of relief to third world countries and there are also many organizations out there that are dedicated to helping people who are suffering from poverty. Contemporary society has also provided much technology to third world countries to improve themselves. Their obligation to help other countries has been fulfilled, contemporary society has responded to the legacies of historical globalization positively.

Campaign 2000 is a public education movement committed to eliminating child poverty in Canada and raising awareness about it. Internationally, there are organizations such as “Make Poverty History” campaign that fights against poverty and helps people to take action. Even celebrities have been contributing. Some hold benefit concerts to raise money and awareness for poverty. In 2005 Bono organized Live 8, a campaign to increase the fight to eradicate poverty in 3rd world countries. Other celebrities donate large amounts of money to charities dealing with poverty. We as citizens can easily find a way to include ourselves in the fight of poverty. Sites such as face book advertise organizations and even a site that if you play a game the advertisers donate 10 grains of rice to the UN’s world food program.
