1. Gatsby is a great guy, Gatsby is deeply fall in love with Daisy, compare to Tom’s love his love is selfless that he can put away everything he has for Daisy. Tom has a mistress outside and never care Daisy’s feeling, Gatsby is rich man who can get everything he want but he still deeply love Daisy. “There is always a halt there of at least a minute, and it was because of this that I first met Tom Buchanan’s mistress.” (Fitzgerald 24) and “He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath.” (Fitzgerald 110) Compare these two men, Gatsby cannot forget Daisy even he is a rich man now, he is a one-girl guy that show his moral code is great. Also, he can discard his everything for Daisy, his deeply love is selfless and melting, after Daisy killed Mrytle by a car accident, he bears everything for Daisy to protect her. After Nick met him, he found out “Gatsby couldn't possibly leave Daisy until he knew what she was going to do. He was clutching at some last hope and I couldn't bear to shake him free.” (Fitzgerald 148) He doesn't want to leave Daisy and he wants to afford everything for her, it is really hard for a common people to do it which his love is deeply and selfless. In conclusion, Gatsby is a great guy that he sacrificed everything for his dream lover but he doesn't realize his dream was broken long time ago.

The American dream is a belief and desire, the people who live in this land think everybody is equal that they have the same opportunity to become rich and have an upper class life by their hard working, because Gatsby is baseborn that he cannot achieve his American dream which upper class is still hard for him to approach. People come to his party but they think the only thing Gatsby has is money, they doubts Gatsby’s past is unsightly and the way he makes himself become rich is
