LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Jay Gatsby, esteemed millionaire was found dead yesterday afternoon in West Egg, Long Island at his mansion, along with his attacker, George Wilson, who was also found dead at the scene. According to police reports, George Wilson's wife had been struck down by a car the night before, Michaelis, a neighbour who owns a restaurant beside George Wilson's auto shop, said that George had been acting very erratically in the earlier hours claiming God speculates over everything. Michaelis also stated that he had been murmuring about a way of finding out who drove the yellow car, which was associated with his wife's hit and run.
When the neighbourhood was questioned, a group of boys stepped forward, saying they had seen a
man “acting sort of crazy”
Someone also came forward, claiming that he had demanded to know where Jay Gatsby resided.
This tragedy may had caused the violent outburst that led to George Wilson shooting Jay Gatsby then taking his own life but also raised questions if the two cases have any correlation with each other or if it was an act of a man derailed by grief, seeking someone to punish for the unforgivable lost he experienced.
As the community mourns the loss of two lives from this incident, Jay Gatsby's funeral will be held in his home this Wednesday and George Wilson's will be on Thursday at a local church.
