There were many industrialist during the industrial revolution, one industrialist is Andrew Carnegie. Andrew Carnegie started the first steel industry, he was a famous industrialist and philanthropist. After his retirement he donated most of his money to establish libraries, schools, and universities, as well as a pension fund for former employees. Another famous industrialist was Henry Ford, he started the automobile industry also he invented the conveyor belt and the assembly line. In addition another effect is, the growth of labor unions. Before the formation of labor unions, workers weren't paid well, they had long hours, unsafe working conditions, and no job security. Then the formation of unions came, the purpose of a union is to protect the rights of their members by getting fair wages, better working conditions and job security for the workers. One union that was created was The Knights of Labor, this union was made up of skilled workers, male and female. This union was established by Terrence Powderly in 1859. Their goal was to gain an eight hour work day and higher wages and to end child labor. Furthermore, another effect was urbanization. Urbanization is when people move to cities because of industrialization for work in factories. During this time period many jobs were being offered to people so they can make money. These are three effects of the industrial revolution.
During the industrial revolution there were many causes and effects that affected the nation. There were many inventions, the availability of capital increased and new sources of labor emerged. Due to these causes there were also effects like, famous industrialists, growth of labor unions and urbanization. These causes and effects helped the industry grow and prosper.
