The Happiest Place on Earth It was the summer of 2011, my first time in California, first time at a beach, and my first time at Disneyland! When arriving at the train station in Los Angeles, it was foggy, humid, and cloudy! The sights were gloomy, dreary, and kind of depressing! It wasn't quite how I imagined. In fact, what I imagined was a sunny, beautiful and bright place with a lot of people. After arriving, we got a rental car, a crimson red Honda Civic, from Hertz car rental. It was a long wait at the car rental place, more people than the eye can see. Once we got the car, we drove to Anaheim and got lost in Orange County on the way. The sights of Orange County included a lot of donut shops, and residential areas. After hours of being lost due to poor map reading, we finally reached our hotel that was three blocks away from Disneyland. We got checked into the hotel, then drove to the Santa Monica beach. At the beach all I could see was the dark, gloomy, cold weather, the flocks of hungry seagulls, and the ocean. The ocean water was freezing, too cold to get in, unless you are my crazy sister, Heather. While she was in the water, I was buried in the sand. My father and Heather buried me and made the sand in the shape of a mermaid’s tail. After we left the beach, we went straight to the hotel to sleep. In the morning, we woke up early and went to Disneyland. We got there before the rush of people. The morning was cold, but I was so excited that I didn't really notice. As we stood in line, I couldn't wait, didn't want to. I stood in line applying my sunscreen, and wishing that the line of screaming children would move faster, so I could be the screaming child at the amusement park. We finally got to the front of the line; I squealed like a little girl. All I could think was, "what are we going to ride first? Which character would be my
