The Happiest Place on Earth It was the summer of 2011, my first time in California, first time at a beach, and my first time at Disneyland! When arriving at the train station in Los Angeles, it was foggy, humid, and cloudy! The sights were gloomy, dreary, and kind of depressing! It wasn't quite how I imagined. In fact, what I imagined was a sunny, beautiful and bright place with a lot of people. After arriving, we got a rental car, a crimson red Honda Civic, from Hertz car rental. It was a long wait at the car rental place, more people than the eye can see. Once we got the car, we drove to Anaheim and got lost in Orange County on the way. The sights of Orange County included a lot of donut shops, and residential areas. After hours of being lost due to poor map reading, we finally reached our hotel that was three blocks away from Disneyland. We got checked into the hotel, then drove to the Santa Monica beach. At the beach all I could see was the dark, gloomy, cold weather, the flocks of hungry seagulls, and the ocean. The ocean water was freezing, too cold to get in, unless you are my crazy sister, Heather. While she was in the water, I was buried in the sand. My father and Heather buried me and made the sand in the shape of a mermaid’s tail. After we left the beach, we went straight to the hotel to sleep. In the morning, we woke up early and went to Disneyland. We got there before the rush of people. The morning was cold, but I was so excited that I didn't really notice. As we stood in line, I couldn't wait, didn't want to. I stood in line applying my sunscreen, and wishing that the line of screaming children would move faster, so I could be the screaming child at the amusement park. We finally got to the front of the line; I squealed like a little girl. All I could think was, "what are we going to ride first? Which character would be my

I woke up on the ground with my ankle sore and my head throbbing. Then I realized that it was my seventh birthday, I was so excited! It was an amazing feeling when I remembered that I was going to have a party at the park! The only thing I didn’t know was that I was going to climb a ladder that day. I was also going to get a little wet. Then we finally set up the party and everyone arrived and then we had cake and started playing tag.…

For twelve years I got to see everything she did. We went to Disneyland once! It was awesome! My favorite ride was Splash Mountain. First, we went into the boat thing. Markie was in front of us and Randall behind us. They are her brothers. We creaked up the slope and turned left. We went to the right and through a short tunnel. Small figures were everywhere, as we slowly went up a steep hill. When we got to the top water was all over the place. I had wondered why. KA-BOOM!!!!!!! We were going down the biggest hill ever! Water was getting in my hair. Markie, Lisa, and Randall were screaming at the top of their lungs. Thirty feet, twenty feet ten feet, SPLASH!!!! I got so wet, that I wouldn’t have to take bath for a month! The water was up to Lisa’s feet in the boat. It was slow for the rest of the ride, but there was a lot of chatter going on, but mom ands dad looked scared. “Want to go on It’s a small world?” asked Helen. Melvin just nodded.…

It all started about three or four years ago when my friend or as some people may consider her as my sister invited me to go for two weeks to a beach house for the fourth of july with her family. As soon as the sun was up we hit the road for about five or six hours until we finally arrived to cayucos which in this case was next to moral bay where ¨finding dory was filmed¨. As soon as the car stopped we ran out the car and started running towards the ocean as you hear the waves smashing towards each other. Looking up you can see pelicans flying free and the warmness of the sun hugging your skin. After spending time out on the beach xitclalli and I decided that we should go inside and see our bedrooms we…

We have to!”, as I pointed to the gigantic blue and grey water slide, my mother's face scrunched up with disgust. For she doesn't like roller coaster nor huge water slides, exactly like this one just yonder. She turned back around and told my brothers and me to put some pep in our step so we can get to the rides, as if she didn't hear a word I just said. As my family moved along, I trudged behind because I knew we weren't going to the enormous water slide. After we went through the park and rode the other little water rides, and roller coasters, and of course the lazy river we decided to call it a day and head home, but since we were on the other half of the park, to walk back we had to pass the huge, terrifying, grey and blue water…

We drove down in separate cars from Kentucky enduring about thirteen long hours of “fun” with my immediate family. We finally arrive in animal kingdom where we are staying in one of the Disney hotels. We get to our room and get settled in when I look out on the balcony and see giraffes, and antelopes, and peacocks walking around in my back yard. It was one of my favorite parts of this trip. We then go out to wait for the bus to take us to our first kingdom, epcot. I remember immediately being here as a child and know exactly what I want to go and do and see. Now being seventeen, I take one of my cousins and we go off on our own to see what we want to experience. We go to the science museum and learn about space and evolution which has through my high school years been very beneficial to me. Having fun and learning at the same time was great. I spend the entire next day going around to all the rides and enjoying them at least two times each. I couldn’t believe how much fun I was having. After that I went to the stores and got all the things I wanted to take back home to remember this trip…

Right as I was up next in line, the rest of my family finally joined me and we all got in a kart. “Three, Two, One, GO!”, the ticket booth worker yells, and off we went. After my triumphant victory, the whole family went on a search for some kind of restaurant because we were starved from all the excitement. We ended up finding a nice restaurant where we bought things like hotdogs and hamburgers. The hotdog I got was delicious and it filled my stomach to the max. Later that night, the firework show started above the Magical Kingdom. As the curious and energetic children that my sisters, Fillip, and I were, we didn’t want to watch the show so we went on to a Snow White mine cart ride. This was the most memorable part for me because this was the ride that ended my fear for roller coasters. I don’t really know how or why this ride cured my fear, but I was happy about it. Immediately after, I told my parents, “I want to ride Space Mountain!”. My sisters were completely okay with riding the coaster again so we went straight o Space Mountain. After the long line we were forced to wait in, I finally climbed aboard the roller coaster and prepared for the ride. And in the blink of an eye, we were speeding down the darkened track. I was happily surprised to know that I was no longer scared and I enjoyed the ride a…

In the summer before 9th grade, things were not going great for my family and me, things in school had been very bad, and things at home and out of school were even worse. At the end of July my mother and I, were looking to go on a trip, to get our minds off of everything that had happened in the past year. We threw ideas around, like going to Vermont, Maine, Pennsylvania, and other nearby states to go sightseeing in. We had almost decided on going to Hershey, Pennsylvania, to go to the amusement park, and see other attractions for a few days, but while looking I saw an advertisement for Universal in Florida. I started looking at plane tickets, hotels, and rental cars. We found an awesome deal, and we booked it. I went to go talk to my friend Chris, on Facebook to tell him I was going, as a joke he said, “Take me too!” I told my mom what he said, she laughed and said “Why not?” I told him to convince his parents because we were leaving in 2 days. It took him a full day, but Wednesday night Chris and his mom showed up to my house with his bags packed ready to go to Florida.…

We were stuck at the top of the roller coaster with a couple of carts going over the edge, terrifying. Plus, the 0 miles per hour to the what felt like 2,000 mile per hour takeoff with no warning almost made me wet myself! As, we were going around the first turn my ribs were rattling like drums. My heart was pounding through my chest like a wrecking ball. Going up the first hill I slammed my eyes shut hard. Up and down the hill with ease I opened my eyes not scared, not afraid. When we finally got off the ride, my brother Drake started chanting “We’re not dead, we’re not dead!” My mom startled him by replying “Shut up, we weren’t gonna die!” “Yay, we almost did.” As I saw the next carts soar up I wished they would get stuck but, they didn’t. As, the day went on I did ride other roller coasters. There was one ride I did skip, The Superman, I didn’t want to get stuck on that one.…
