In this last section, I explore the memories and the past themes through different personal works. I create an original poem, and talk about how I made it, choose a situation in "The Kite Runner" and gave my response to it, talk about some present day current events and the past about art
The haunting memories– written by Tony Minh
Walking down memory lane.
To see a haunting memory that you cannot change.
The haunting memories are taunting and wanting you to plunge into a deep pain.
Running down memory lane.
To stop feeling of the pain, thinking it won’t remain.
The haunting memories are not regular ankle sprains.
Standing in memory lane.
To accept the pain you caused because you are humane for it to be contained.
The haunting memories would still remain, but you’ll never feel the pain.
All in memory lane.
Situation: Rahim Khan tells Amir that Baba committed adultery with Sanaubar to born Hassan, before he died.
There is evidence of the theme, memories and the past in this situation. For example: For almost Amir’s entire childhood he grew up with Hassan making memories together. Amir did not know that he was his brother when growing up with Hassan. There were lots of foreshadowing and signs of Hassan being treated like a son by Baba. Walking down memory lane, means taking a nostalgic path of all your memories and then being reminded about a memory that doesn’t go away hence “haunting” that causes you guilt. As you tried to forget about a haunting memory you are running from it, but you think the pain from the guilt is temporary like an ankle sprain however it’s not. Standing in memory lane means you stop running from the past and accept the guilt to be human, because human cant live with guilt. The bad memories will remain but if you accept that it happen you wont feel guilty
