The Hebrews and the Assyrians
The Hebrews and the Assyrians have some things in common and some differences. Hebrews were more of a religious society, as to Assyrians were more of a society that’s more worried about conquering the world and ruling over everybody. The Hebrews stuck to more of just worrying about themselves and to not go to war unless they had to. The Assyrians were always out fighting and conquering new places to expand their kingdom. Their tactics were gruesome and they made the enemies fear them to where they would surrender to them. They would also cut off the food routes and the food supplies to starve the opponent in to surrendering into the Assyrians. They would burn and stack the dead bodies of the enemies people at their gate.
I think the Hebrew’s have the biggest impact on western civilization. Their religion still has effect on our society today. We still obey many of their rules like; Thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shall obey thy mother and thy father. Also the Christians in our society still read and follow the bible. Although the Assyrians had the most military advancement, and they had some of the best war tactics back in that time the Hebrews still in my opinion have the biggest effect on western civilization. Their civilization still exists today also but the Assyrians do not exist.
I think that our biggest contribution to today’s western civilization is our military intervention although our self-determination is a big contribution to the western civilization too. Some of the reasons I think our military intervention is the biggest contribution to western civilization over self-determination is: Nuclear bombs, the United States was the first to ever let off a nuclear bomb and an atomic bomb. By letting these bombs off I think shows the destruction they can do and makes other countries think that they would be able to defend themselves if there was ever another world war. Next our war technology, we are further ahead of any other country in the world in this category. We are further ahead in our jets and planes, we have many weapons that are just owned by our military and no other country has them. Our explosives and bombs there are approximately only 200 nuclear bombs in the world that are not owned by the United States or Russia.
I think we are more like the Assyrians than the Hebrews. The Hebrew’s were known mostly for their religion, as the Assyrians were known for their military and their war tactics. The United States in my opinion in the future will be remembered as the country that was all powerful, and everybody was afraid to go into war with them and that they was not afraid to fight anyone they would never back down from a fight. They will be compared to the Assyrians because kingdoms were afraid to come into contact with them and always settled everything with fight and intimidating their opponent.

While the Egyptians were able to do many things that required the use of mathematics, it is unclear how they came about the answers to their problems. As a result, it is hard to determine just how much influence they were capable of having on the future.…

Israelites were expected to keep their covenant and the Ten Commandments. “Similarly, Persians were expected to keep promises and tell the truth” p.126. Both religious teachings created an ideology in justifying their society.…

Despite the fact that both Mesopotamia and Egypt were first developing around the same time, natural forces and the environment caused variations in many cultural developments such as political systems, religious views, and much more. Their biggest differences were dependent on the river-valleys they lived in and how that affected the way they managed agriculture, as well as their view of their gods. One similarity that Mesopotamia and Egypt did have was that both civilizations developed a system of writing and keeping records.…

Just as we should understand the history of the Bible, we must realize the fact that geography played a huge role in the decisions that people of the past made. For example, one may ask, “How did the Egyptians have such a stranglehold on nations including the Hebrews?” That can be answered in various ways using your knowledge of geography. First of all, the African deserts surrounding Egypt acted as a natural barrier against enemy attacks, making it a safe haven. Egypt was also supported by the legendary “Gift of the Nile” which supported the dry desert area with an infinite…
