The Hidden Dangers of Social Networking for Kids
What can be more dangerous than millions of kids connecting with millions of strangers? Kids 12 and under are spending 6 1/2 to 7 hours a week on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Many parents don't mind their kids participating in these types of social medias, but many of them also don't know what's going on, what they are doing, and who they are talking to. When these 12 and 11 year old kids join the social networking, they have no idea what they've got themselves into, and they don't know whether they will be one of the few to take their lives caused by the dangers of social networking.
One way that social networking is dangerous for kids, is the problem of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying has become a very big problem in todays society. Many kids don't know, or don't understand that people or their "friends" can hurt them and tell them rude and hurtful things. And most of the time, they won't ever find who is hurting them. With Facebook, it is extremely easy for someone to bully someone else. Facebook is one of the most "powerful forms of media" that there is. Many people think Facebook is wonderful because they can keep their friends and families up to date on their activities, they can share photos and they can talk to any of their friends. However, I am about to reveal to you the hidden dangers of Facebook. Studies show that kids that are on Facebook for a significant amount of time are diagnosed with personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder, bipolar disorder and many others.
Another way why social networking is bad, is because its addictive.
