Ron Hubbard’s status remained the same, and his religion didn’t really grow at first. That was until, large celebrities such as John Travolta and Tom Cruise joined the church. As Jon Atack, an ex-Scientologist states, “Each session was incredibly personal, brainwashing you as they ask questions you prefer not to be answered… [the] process is called auditing” (tonyortega.org) and also announces how “L. Ron Hubbard uses Freud’s abandoned theories of Hypnosis, but they had little to no evidence to support and was too dangerous” (www.sweenytod.com). As revealed, Hubbard was troubled man with different ideas, yet he was intelligent too, using another controversial man’s ideas to benefit himself. But even so, the official Scientology website proclaims the process of auditing is “to release the immorality inside of you,” and the entire capital goal of auditing is “to restore beingness and ability…[and] is accomplished by helping individuals rid themselves of any spiritual disabilities and increasing spiritual abilities.”(www.scientology.org). However, Scientology uses such harmful propaganda to get expand their own base to get more money from celebrities such as Travolta and Cruise, because chances are, auditors (people who asking these questions) want you to feel that the more open you are, the more “free” and “vulnerable” you can be to the church’s ominous ideologies.
