‘Legend, Fact and History’.
I am against the premise that our contemporary, current understanding of the Holocaust and the persecution of the Jews is a combination of ‘Legend, Fact and History.’ I’m arguing that the only crucial, relevant aspect of our view is fact! That includes undeniable evidence that is totally accepted by all. Some historical records in our time are only causing controversy because many professional historians that disagree with the premise of the Holocaust are presenting their point of view in public. They are more dangerous than the Holocaust deniers; this is due to them reducing the number of Jews exterminated considerably but try to keep the unit realistic to gain support from pedestrians. On the other hand, Holocaust deniers completely disagree with the event of the persecution of the Jews and cause many issues over the world. I believe that these people are wrong due to the evidence collected during, and after the Holocaust such as: Anne Franks dairy, Schindler’s List and many survivor stories. Along with many museums around the world, one is specifically attempting to collect survivors and non survivors names both to prove the numbers lost in the Holocaust and to educate todays generation.
Between the end of the Holocaust and the present, much evidence has been collected to prove the Nazis effective yet unsuccessful attempt of eliminating every Jewish, Gypsies, homosexual, crippled or black person plus other minorities. The majority of evidence refers to the Jews in the concentration camp since the horrifying event had the biggest impact on them. Facts are supported by written sources that include: Schindler’s list that contained over 1200 names of Jewish people that were saved from the camps.
