The museum is public, which means any age could see this art, which I don’t think is a great idea because I bet some kids and even teens were confused and shocked as to why the artist painted Mary like that especially using elephant dung and showing inappropriate part of her body.
In art, I ask myself how far is too far of an artwork. I agree with other people saying some arts should be age-restricted if it’s display in the public museums because it could cause a lot of situation for those who feel uncomfortable by it. However, arts is everywhere rather if its paintings, sculptures or even films. People may look at a piece of art and find it beautiful and understand where the artist was going. Whereas some people have to look for more closely into and find what makes an ugly or weird artwork beautiful.
