The Hunger Games: Movie Analysis

The Hunger games is a film that at first glance is disguised as a romantic teen movie for young adults to enjoy watching on the weekend with all of their friends and family. But with just a small amount of critical thinking and understanding of the themes and images that are presented in front of you during the viewing of this film you can receive a whole other level of understanding to what the makers of the film are trying to help you visualize in a discreet manner. Right off the bat, at the start of the film you are presented with Katniss Everdeen in a deep concentration hunting for a deer she has spotted in the wilderness while equipped with a bow and some arrows but she ends up getting interrupted in the middle of almost getting the kill by Gale Hawthorne. She does gets a bit upset at after the interruption at Gale because the deer fled away to who knows where, and it was the first deer that Katniss has even had the chance to lay her eyes on in around the span a year or so. Knowing that there has not been much to hunt around District 12 during that year, lets the audience know that there is a huge problem with poverty being a main issue
They are not present to us in a humanly fashion but rather in the form of some sort of alien species that is from a distant planet. We are not meant to relate to or look up to the makeup demons.
These capitol people do not have morals they laugh at the misery of the participants of the hunger games and profit from them, exploit them, and having fun while doing all of that at the same time. They even make jokes and games with their peers and even with their little children as shown with the young capitol child receiving a sword as a gift/toy and using it to pretend slaughter his own sibling like one of the tributes in the
