Unicorns were first described in the writings of a popular physician, Ctesias in the 5th century BCE. On Ctesias description of India, he writes that there are some wild asses that are extremely large, some larger than horses that have a horn on their forehead that is about two-thirds of a meter [1]. The Unicorn became a popular animal among the known Eurasian world. The word “Monoceros” or one-horned creature such as the Unicorn appeared in the Septuagint Old Testament [2]. The Unicorn hunt is shown in a series of tapestries called the Unicorn Tapestries that were created in Paris during the years 1495-1505. They are able to be seen in the Cloister Museum in New York. The Unicorn is used to represent Jesus Christ the Unicorn represents romance, love, magic, and Providence. In the Bible when God commanded that Adam and Eve name all animals of the Earth, the first one to be named was the Unicorn [3]. Because of this, God gave that creature a special blessing and transferred magical power to its horn. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command and were banished from the Garden of Eden, the Unicorn was given a choice to follow Adam and Eve into the world of war, pain, chaos, and death or stay in paradise. The Unicorn chose to follow Adam and Eve out of love and was blessed forever
