One of my favorite movies is Dances With Wolves. Dances With Wolves is a 1990 American epic western film directed and produced by Kevin Costner. Kevin Costner plays the star character, Lieutenant, John J. Dunbar. He is wounded in the American Civil War. He chose to try to commit suicide over having his foot amputated by taking a horse and riding it up to and along the confederate soldiers’ front lines. They failed to shoot him. The Union Army attacks the line while the confederate soldiers are distracted and the Union Army wins the battle. Dunbar survives and is allowed to recover properly, receives a citation for bravery, and is awarded Cisco, the horse who carried him, as well as his choice of posting. John Dunbar requests a transfer…
The Fast & Furious fearless leader - Vin Diesel, unleashed a dramatic new trailer for his upcoming supernatural action film 'The Last Witch Hunter.' The video trailer gives a slight indication of the resurrection of a death-dealing villain set on destroying humanity. Vin Diesel's The Last Witch Hunter will be directed by Breck Eisner.…
Clint Eastwood’s critical, box office and Academy Awards juggernaut tells the tale of Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper), a prolific, er, American sniper, and his endeavours on and off the battlefield during the Iraq war. It’s a heavily lethargic adaptation of a heavily controversial book about a heavily divisive ‘American Hero’. Not to say that the flick itself is wildly patriotic – though the ending tries its best to disprove that – but nor is it an anti-war film, as director Eastwood haplessly attempts to argue. Which is where American Sniper’s greatest fault, among many faults, lies; it’s a film that is too afraid to carry any political heft, any commentary that would make the viewing experience worthwhile. As a result, the whole point of the film is rendered null.…
I belive that A Cry In The Wild does a better job of telling the story.I belive this because it has better details here are some reasons .First in the movie his mom kiss a man behind a tree in the movie she kissed him in a station wagon.Next in the movie Brian got attacked by a Bear in the book he got attacked a mossieThis why I belive this.…
In the film ‘The Last of The Mohicans’ directed by Michael Mann, an important idea that was shown throughout the film is loss of innocence. Loss of innocence is something that often involves a new understanding of the nature of humanity and its potential for good or evil. Cora is a character that portrays this theme well. The director uses close ups, medium shots and point of view shots to capture Cora evolving into a strong and courageous woman.…
David Fallon’s film, Call of the Wild, is movie surrounding the adventures of a young man and his dog. I watched the film on my computer on July 1st, 2015. The movie begins with a kidnapped dog, named Buck, being auctioned off. Buck immediately steals the attention of young Miles, the other protagonist in the movie. Buck initially works as a sled dog for a Yukon mail carrier. On his first job, Buck faces severe weather, wolf attacks, and a fight with Spitz, the team’s lead dog. The harsh conditions kill every dog except for Buck and leaves the mail carrier in a near-death condition. Buck saves the mail carrier, but is sold again to two travelers, Hal and Mercedes. Miles is hired as a travel guide for the duo. Hal mistreats the dogs, refuses to listen to Miles, and eventually causes his own death. Mercedes and Miles are able to survive the journey with Buck’s aid.…
Ronald Joffe, the director the The Killing Fields, including various scenes of children in the film to create compassion in the viewer for the struggles Cambodians had to endure.…
The movie “Good Will Hunting”, chronicling the story of an unknown genius with a photographic memory, redefines the word “genius”. Whereas MIT professors and their colleagues struggle to understand higher level mathematics and algorithms, this humble janitor solves the queries as if they came directly from an episode of Sesame Street. Will Hunting does not attend college; he is self educated via books which he reads at an astonishing pace, flipping the pages as if there were just a word on each page. Will Hunting (while fictional) is the epitome of intelligence and clearly would possess one of the most comprehensive knowledge resources on the planet. In a tutorial with a vast source of knowledge such as him, learning would be virtually limitless.…
Throughout the entire movie, violence and action are depicted in some shape or form. This is also intensified with the use of camera angle, setting, and special effects. There are also many themes that surround the film, which propel the plot further, such as betrayal and trust. Moreover, the story consists of a group of criminals who are on a job to rob diamonds, however when cops arrive at the location, this causes accusations to run rampant.…
I have chosen the film Forest Gump to write about my understanding of film. It was released in 1994 and directed by Robert Zemeckis, produced by Wendy Finerman and Steven Tisch. The movie based on the written screenplay of Eric Roth from the novel of Winston Groom. It has several well-known, talented actors such as Tom Hanks, Sally Fields, Robin Wright and Gary Sinise to name a few. The production cost of fifty-five million and it grossed six hundred and seventy-seven million worldwide. Forrest Gump won six Oscars at the Academy Awards for this display of artistry.…
For me, there is nothing I enjoy more (almost) than reviewing indie films. I am one that seeks out those who could benefit from the extra promotion, and although it can be difficult to sometimes squeeze it into my schedule, I am happy to help when I can. And that is exactly how I feel with The Hunt. This is an independent film, and it just so happens that Kyle Smithers, director of this film, was kind enough to give me the chance to review it. And the fact that it stars Rick Ravanello, one of my favorite actors (and people, for that matter), makes this particular review even more gratifying.…
The Pathway to Death One day as Mary Alice was walking through the dark enchanted forest, she stumbled upon a secret pathway. The air was brisk on her skin as continued her journey along the trail. At the very end of the path she noticed a dark, abandoned castle. The castle was rustic and creepy looking.…
My six year old self was wearing a pink velvet hello kitty long sleeve shirt and jeans that had embroidered sparkles and butterfly designs. Obviously I was dressed to impress. After visiting with my parents for a couple weeks I was about to spend my first night with my new family. My mom is a petite Asian women but despite her small frame she is exerts confidence and has a Type A personality while my dad is a big white guy who is kind and is perfect for my mom because he is Type B personality. Upon meeting them I knew they were perfect for me because I coincidentally looked like my mom and had her stuberness but had my dad's soft side. I already had the night planned in my head, I would go and play then eat a delicious dinner and then convince my parents to watch The Little Mermaid before I had to go to bed. When I got to my new home I rushed to play doctor with the chocolate labs who would soon become my best friends. I was later called to dinner and that's where my vision of the perfect first night crashed and burned. On my plate was a grotesque pile of salad taking up at least a third of my plate. This was not acceptable in my book. I proceeded to give every excuse to not eat The Salad.…
