The Illustrations Of Tyron
Tyron, the new main character appeared in this chapter. He was Percy’s big ugly stupid friend but funny and lovely. Tyron was usually bullied by Matt Sloan, who had characters like a Pitbull dog. In the second chapter, the story was about playing dodgeball with the monster. The Illustrations were very vivid. I imagined that it occurred in my high school gym because of the writer’s description. I felt like I was in that situation again.
The character I most admire in this chapter was Tyron. I really liked him because he was a true friend of Percy. While Percy was fighting with cannibals, he sacrificed himself to protect Percy from fire ball. My heart skipped a beat for a while. Fortunately, he did not die or get any injures. This part was very

A character in the novel I extremely admired was Thomas, the main character. i admired him because he was brave the whole way throughout the novel. The next day, Mister Percy called all the servants down to alert us that a small sum of money had been stolen and to “warn” us that he’d teach us a lesson from stealing from him by selling the thief. I was terrified even though I hadn’t committed the crime that I had been accused of. I went to bed that night but couldn’t sleep with the thought in the back of my mind that my son could grow up to be sold down the river. I knew what I had to do. It was one of the hardest choices I had to make, there was no other option.…

In William Blake’s Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience, the poems “The Lamb” and “The Tyger” are companion poems. Together, the two poems showcase one of Blake’s five main themes- childhood innocence can be dominated by evil after experience has brought an awareness of evil. With the lamb representing childhood and the tiger representing evil, Blake’s poems “The Lamb” and “The Tyger” focus on childhood and what people become after they grow and experience life.…

Geographic luck theory is that some countries developed faster with the resources they had than others and got more advanced in ways with guns, germs, and steel, therefore were able to obtain much of the world. It gave some people an advantage over others that enabled them to gain wealth, power, and strength. Geographic luck challenges the traditional explanation of inequality that claims certain races and ethnicities are genetically and culturally superior and inferior. Weaponry is a factor that was influenced by the geographic luck theory. Pizarro's conquistadors were armed with the best in weapon technology like swords and guns which helped them to do many things. Pizarro is known in history as the man who conquered the Incas by leading…

Meeting a monster is one way how Percy is a hero. Percy is in the museum with Mrs.Dodds and she starts saying strange things to Percy. Suddenly, she shifts into a monster. “She wasn’t human. She was a shriveled hag with bat wings and claws and a mouth full of yellow fangs, and she was about to slice me to ribbons.” (Riordan 12) This supports Percy meeting a monster because the quote says Mrs.Dodds was not human. Then, the quote describes Mrs.Dodds with things monsters have like bat wings and yellow…

Imagination has become important to the revolution of society and nature. John Tyndall, an Irish natural philosopher of the nineteenth century, believed that our mind and spirit must work together. Tyndall published his essay called “Scientific Use of the Imagination,” where it seems that it was written to validate his position on the scientific use of imagination and to persuade other scholars as science was expanding into universities. John Tyndall belief was that we need imagination to uncover the unseen things of nature. Tyndall’s idea is credible as he was a physicist, draftsman, and mathematician who integrates each one in his writing to demonstrate that we need freedom of thought to progress. He is effective by using deductive reasoning…

While I read this I notice that there are monsters on Earth yet no one else is seeing them. As I read further I wonder why Percy sees these monsters and if Percy will have to fight demons off on a regular basis. How will he cope with being a demigod? Does his family know? These are just a few of the questions that run through my mind as I read. During the fight scene I can visualize Percy, scared and quivering, forced to fight for his life. I know if that was me I would be scared out of my mind. Now I want to know, what will happen next?…
