Essay on Federalism OR Accountability

Leon,

This is an excellent assignment, one that you should be very proud of.

Starting with an impressive introduction, you outline the paper’s parameters and explicitly state its argument. Your analysis draws upon a wide range of sources and utilises them very effectively. Indeed, you have structured your paper so that the reader is never left questioning its progression. In this, your train of critical thought is evident. It is clear that you have a very strong understanding of the topic as is highlighted through your well-constructed argument. Your conclusion reiterates the main points of your paper well, and draws the all together into a satisfying conclusion.

With your last paper I criticised your disjointed writing style and the lack of narrative flow. It is obvious that you have taken these comments on-board and have worked towards their successful resolution. In saying that, there is still room for improvement in this regard. While your transitions are much improved, some shifts between paragraphs feel a little messy. Being aware of this issue, as you clearly are, will help you continue to improve your writing style.

Well done.

I changed several things in my paper starting with my attention grabber. I changed the whole sentence into something more attractive to my readers. I thought my attention grabber was to boring. I changed the extra space I had in my paper which I didn’t know how to until now. I changed a few words that I mistakenly added instead of the right word. I also changed the sentences from my second paragraph. I excluded using first person “us” since it is informal to use when writing college essays. I deleted the last sentences from my second paragraph which didn’t make sense and added something that did make sense with my paragraph. I had a run on sentence which I made them into two separate sentences. In my third paragraph I explained my first sentence which was a good idea I wrote. I would like feedback on the mistakes I corrected and anything else would be great to know.…

Medical dominance in Australia Within Australia, medicine has traditionally dominated every facet of health care delivery (Germov, 2002; Willis, 1989). The professional status that medicine holds in Australia has been gained by means of its historical and political advantages (Germov, 2002; Willis, 1989). Willis’s (1989) seminal work on medical dominance provides an extensive review of medical relationships and the power that medicine yields. Historically, in Australia, medicine gained its position of political and economic power through its relationship ARTICLE IN PRESS 1064 A. Kenny, S. Duckett / Social Science & Medicine 58 (2004) 1059–1073 with the state (Willis, 1989). The state was dependent on medicine for knowledge and skill and in turn, the state supported the rise of medicine to a position of organizational dominance by sanctioning medicine’s control through licensing laws and the regulation of other health professionals.…

Healthcare around the world has become a basic economic necessity among highly competitive and progressive nations. Healthcare is the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease or illness but healthcare extends far past the delivery of services to the public. Healthcare is a complex system dealing with many related sectors and plays a crucial role in the structure of government. Among the world’s leading spenders in healthcare, the U.S. ranks at the top spending 17.7% GDP annually (OECD, 2013). But many other industrial nations are finding success with alternative methods to healthcare such as Australia, Sweden, France, etc. Australia, in particular, is having success with their healthcare system but finds themselves spending a fraction…

Equity of access, as stated in National Health Reform Agreement, is one of the fundamental bases of the Australian Health care system (DHA 2013a). Other elementary aspects of the Australian health care system also cover effectiveness, which focuses on ratio of outputs to outcomes, and efficiency, which is defined as achieving maximum outputs with available inputs or resources. Those three represent ideal health system, which should be effective and efficient, and able to achieve the specified outcomes (efficacy) in a way that maximises access (distribution), outputs (productivity) and outcomes within the available resources (NHHRC 2009, p. 4).
