Men thought women were put on Earth to bear children hence them thinking the use of birth control went against nature. Due to religious reasoning, sex was intended for procreation and not pleasure so if women used contraceptives, they denied God’s will. They also thought birth control would make people promiscuous since pregnancy wouldn’t be an issue.…

Teenage girls consuming birth control don't realize the long term effects that can be presented in the future. Teenage girls assure themselves that the probability of becoming infertile doesn't concern them at this age. But are teenage girls ages from 15 to age 21 really prepared to make such big decision. Teenagers should not be allowed to take birth control or make that decision in that matter, at the adolescence age maturity isn't at its full potential to decide your fertility probablity.…
Most teenagers isn’t capable of taking care of child yet, so birth control reduces the chances of getting pregnant. However, adolescents don’t know how to work the over the counter pills and birth pills require prescription for them to purchase it. If you want to buy it take a friend with you so that you won't be ashamed to take it. If the teen is male tell him about birth controls and any other information related birth control pills.…
When I was around the age to start talking about sexual activities, it was a funny and weird subject to speak on. In reality, it is a touchy topic to talk about with teens. You feel that you already know or you don’t need to know because you are not having sex. Oh! How we were wrong. My mom told me about birth control, condoms, and abstinence. At first I didn’t know exactly what abstinence was but I figured out that it meant wait to have sex when you’re ready. My mom told me to wait until I get married, never get pressured to do anything. I never learned a lot of facts at school because we didn’t have sex education. Sex education should be in all middle and high schools. So many kids like I did didn’t know about safe sex and the cause and effects on what will happen. Not only females but more males have no idea on what to expect as well. Recent discussions has showed that if you tell kids to stay abstinent not only will they go out and have sex anyway but cause a lot of problems such as, teen pregnancy, more infections spreading, and emotional distress.…
Currently Teenagers are trying to grow up too quickly. They want to be just like the TV characters they idolize and will change themselves to do so. There are shows on TV like “16 and pregnant” that basically insinuate; if you have sex and get pregnant then you will get paid to be on television. Most teens do not go to their parents for birth control because they are afraid. In general teenagers do not want their parents knowing they are having sex. Having access to birth control, with or without the parents permission, can be a touchy subject. With this point, getting birth control without parental consent is a debatable topic. In my opinion I think you shouldn’t be able to get birth control, unless you have your parent or legal guardian there.…
During the 1920s the United States had experienced changes within the traditional value system that had become the norm for the country. The suffrage of women was coming to a head as women were granted rights and freedoms that were normally denied in the male driven society. After 1920 the women’s right movement began to transform the mob mentality of taking into the respectable ideas that we see today. One of the rights that women gained was the right to choose to use birth control.…
Birth control has always been a controversial topic in America. There are people who believe that it does more harm than good for women, while others think the complete opposite. Even though there have been some medical down sides to birth control there have been more positive outcomes from the legalization such as independence from men. Birth control started a movement for women in America and because of the movement, women now are able to take control of their bodies and have the power to choose to have children or not, changing women's rights in America forever.…
Birth control as a movement in the US has had a very uneven relationship to movements for women s rights. Discuss early birth control reform efforts in relationship to issues of gender and class power.…
“My life is over” Sally said with tears falling down her eyes. “I knew I should have went with my first thought” she said while shaking her leg rapidly. One of the worst things a parent of a teenage girl could hear is “I’m pregnant.” Birth control is one of the best things that is made. Giving access to birth control for teenage girls without parental permission will lower teen pregnancy rates, allow young girls have a great future, and can also have decreased stress levels.…
Pill, patch, implant, and the IUD are different type of the birth control method that helps women to prevent pregnancy. Most of the women commonly use birth control pills. The birth control pill didn’t come into the picture until the 1960’s and since then it has changed the society and womanhood. Welch (2010) have expressed that the birth control pill did manage to change women’s life beyond the main purpose of it, which is to delay having a family. Other reasons for birth control methods are: reducing childbearing, price of delaying children, decrease in family size, postponing parenthood due to higher education and job security, self-identity, delaying marriage plan to have a better spousal choice, and etc. (Nisen, 2013). The main element…
History has always been a struggle for women. Being seen as lessor beings, not being able to own property, not being able to work, to vote, to control their right to have children have all been the topic of many struggles. Over time women have fought to have these rights given to them. One of the many rights that has been fought for and won is the right to control when we have children. Margaret Sanger was the leading women for this movement. She started to educate women about sex in 1912. She was a nurse who had treated many women who had back alley abortions done. She had dreams of a “magic pill” that would one day prevent pregnancy. “No woman can call herself free until she can choose consciously whether or not she will be a mother,” Sanger said. (Margaret Sanger, 2013)…
Do you think birth control pills should be available to teenage girls without a prescription? Over the years teenage pregnancy has increased tremendously. As a result, causing abortions or high school dropouts. In my opinion birth control should be sold over the counter to prevent teenage pregnancy. I am in favor of the pill being given to teens because there have been many researches done that shows good benefits of teens being on the pill, but there are people who may disagree with my opinion. Parents, Doctors, and many other people all have different opinions about teens having access to the pill.…
Studies are proving both sides of this argument. They show that the pledges are both effective as well as ineffective, but mostly they are, ineffective. Although many teens take the Abstinence Pledge, most do not stick to it. Clearly, the pledges are ineffective because teens are still having sex & are not waiting until after marriage. My viewpoint on this subject is that Abstinence Pledges are ineffective and many who take the pledge fail to stick to it. What is the purpose of introducing Abstinence Pledges to a crown who will sign it just for the sake of it, but not commit themselves?…
