A is for John Adams. He was one of the members of the Committee of Five and the First and Second Continental Congress. He, along with John Jay and Benjamin Franklin also helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris (1783), which officially ended hostilities between America and Britain. This geographical feature was important to the American Revolution because during the Battle of Saratoga, the British planned a three-pronged attack to take control of the Hudson River.
