History has proven many times that drinking is bad. Teenage drinking and driving would result to death or accidents; as a result, many teenagers’ lives being taken away by consuming excessive alcohol than their limit. Most of the teenage kids get drugs at teenage parties, and it makes them addicted to alcohol, then they end up doing stupid stuff after getting drunk and they do not know that it is affecting their bodies negatively. The drinking age should be increased and governments should amend a law to be 21 years of age for drinking which would stop these accidents of car crashes, death of innocent people walking, driving, and teenage violence in B.C, Canada.
Every week we hear about drinking and driving
violation in the Vancouver sun newspaper. Most teenagers are guilty of drinking and driving, and taking lives of other people. The highest risks of accidents today are the 16-24 years of age, and 30% of all passenger fatalities are causing by this generation then we should rectify the problem now. Teenagers do not feel responsible for drinking and driving since there are taxi companies, and carpools are available to teenage kids as well as every single adult. The drinking age must rise in B.C from 19 to 21 years of age, which would reduce 30% of accidents caused by drinking and driving. As a result, governments will not hire any more patrol officers because teenage drinking and driving is reduce by rising the age to 21. Which will help them in reducing the cost of money spent toward police and they can use it for other resources. For instance, one of my friends got in a car accident with a drunk driver in Abbotsford, B.C. He stayed in hospital for a year, because he went into comma after the accident. Luckily he survived, but he still feels terrified when he thinks of driving or when he reads the stories in newspaper.
Next, the societal problems of teenage parties’ late night & drinking alcohol over limit which carries on social disturbance in neighbourhood. When teenagers have parties in their house they think they are having fun but, they have no idea they are also violating the rules and regulations of society. Moreover, they can not see their there idiotic behavioural activates that they do after getting hammered. Many kids have been found dead after these teenage parties by taking too much drugs, burning their house down, and getting into a fight while they were drunk. In B.C drinking age must be raised to 21 years to help neighbourhoods from the loud music, and kids who got stabbed or injured by other people. Government should also stop people who provide alcohol to underage kids so these kids do not become addictive to alcohol. Liquor stores should have limit of selling alcohol to people between 21 to 25 years of age. This only doesn’t help society from teenage violence it also reduces incidents, thefts and crime in cities.
Furthermore, drinking has always been issue for health, crime and aggression. Drinking alcohol damages your liver and also makes person addictive. Some teenagers have kid at the age of 17 or 18 years of age because kids get so drunk and they never know when they slept together. These teenage kids don’t even know how
To make sure our future generation do not get spoiled with alcohol, B.C government should rise drinking age to 21 years of age. Less health problems would also increase long living standards in British Columbia.
In the end, I would say rising drinking age will help our future generation to live longer and less crime on streets. Kids of age 19 years won’t get spoiled and they will have kids, when they will believe in supporting their family. Amending to increase in drinking age would reduce driving accidents, save some young lives and reduce the number of serious injuries. So, if you want live happy and long healthy life do not drink & drive or party too much because something’s should be done in a limit, it would be a great influence for future generation as well.
