It became easier to register to vote so more Americans participated in elections. This increased mobilization not only in a physical way, but in other ways as well. Americans had more representation in the government by being able to participate in elections. The people were able to make changes in their communities by having a say now as well.
The equal protection clause also altered political socialization by protecting peoples voting rights. The more people that can vote means more people can join political parties and create their own political ideas and opinions. Once a voter has joined a party, they can promote political socialization as well. An example of this is how people put election signs in their yards to promote their party’s candidate and to hopefully encourage views to go vote for the same person.
