The Importance Of Harper Woods Community
The city of Harper Woods has a community that is strong and I am proud to be apart of that community. Our community in the city of Harper Woods is small ,but however we always come together to help better our community and others. Recently the city of Harper Woods came together to help the Flint Water crises. The city as a whole came together as a whole and brought numerous gallons of bottled water to Harper Woods High school. Packs of Harper Woods citizens drove to flint to distribute the water as well. This is only one of the many things the Harper Woods community does to help other communities as well as our own.
Everyone has a role to play in representing our city. I have taken on participating in community service projects and showing

Much like your Grandmother’s secret recipe for making her Sunday morning warm, Saskatoon berry filled scones, creating a sustainable future for Canadian communities requires the right ingredients. One of the most crucial ingredients for a community’s success is the involvement of the Co-operatives. Since relocating to Regina, I can see the positive impact the Co-operatives, specifically the Co-op Refinery, has had in contributing to the prosperity of the residents who call Regina home. As a newly adopted resident of Regina, I have experienced how the Co-operatives not only impact local communities, but how they impact, change and provide a secure future for people, people just like me.…

The Mountain Brook Community is such an amazing place to live and to be apart of. There are many factors that I think contribute to giving this community its credibility. A few of those factors, other than safety and great educational system, is that we are a community. The definition of community is “ group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common”, and when I see that definition, I immediately see Mountain Brook. The people of Mountain Brook are what make Mountain Brook such a special community. I love living in Mountain Brook because of times like when a friend of mine, a fellow sophomore, was diagnosed with cancer, the whole community came together for support. I love that as a community, we organized multiple different events to show our love and support for a member of the Mountain Brook community. I also love how Mountain Brook provides for all different ages of people in this community. I love the new Cahaba River Walk, off Overton Road, how it is intended for everyone in the community, including pets. The Cahaba River Walk was also funded by individuals of our community and by group donors, and that shows how much our community members care about our city, and I love that about Mountain…

I want to see more of my fellow high students be admitted into UC schools, the protection of women’s and the LGBTQ community’s rights, everyone having access to healthycare, senior citizens getting the benefits they worked for, and more. The idea that positive change can happen in the city I was raised in drove me to wake up the morning to canvass, make hundreds of calls, and push high school students to be more involved in local politics. Back then, I would never have believe my actions as a high school girl can impact my hometown as a whole. If there is one thing in life that I am proud of, it is my participation and leadership in helping Ro Khanna become the congressman for California’s 17th…

I would like to start this report off by saying that I have never been to city council meeting before, even though my father was the mayor, and still serves on city council back in my home town of Kingsford, Michigan. I found this experience both interesting and exhausting to see and understand the scope of the council’s role and responsibilities in keeping this city running. All members of council must have to have a very extensive education and background in finance and public administration even in mid-sized city like Colorado Springs. I couldn’t imagine the business required in a major metropolitan city.…

I am excited about the opportunity to represent the county and would enjoy traveling to other communities, meeting new people and sharing information about our county with others. I will project a positive attitude, make people feel comfortable when visiting with them and keep in mind to have a fun filled time and keep on smiling. I am not afraid to take on new challenges, as it is through the climb that we truly find out what our potential is. In the words of Bernice Johnson Reagon: “Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you; they’re supposed to help you discover who you are.” As I am getting older and meeting the challenges of growing older, I am finding out more about myself all the time. I have learned that I have determination and perseverance to accomplish more than I thought I could, I have patience and a soft heart for children and that I look forward to each day to be the best that I can be.…

An agreed set of public goals for our community is that as a whole group we do a lot of community service. For a couple of years my club would go to a nursing home and do different activities with the elderly. Whether it be making them sun catchers to hang in their windows or play board and card games with them. It was very surprising my first year to find out that a lot of the elderly in nursing homes never get visitors. This made me very sad. So my club took a vote and decided to keep going back month after month and building a bond with these amazing people. I loved sitting around talking with them and hearing about all the different stories each of them had to tell. Another community service my group did was that we went to different parks right as spring began and we would plant beautiful flowers for everyone to enjoy.…
