The Importance Of Learning How To Read

Learning how to read was at one point of time in my life a huge obstacle that was preventing me from learning and doing other things such as writing. This event matters because as a result of being able to read, a door of opportunities opened for me as well. Not only that, but I was now able to see and understand my true calling which was teaching and encouraging others to learn how to read as well. I wanted others to understand how reading was something that you should want to do and enjoy doing. In this story, what’s at stake is my passion and my future because after understanding and realizing that I loved reading, I wanted others to do the same as well. I can still remember my first day of Kindergarten at which my mother had to almost dragged me by my two pigtails. She keeps telling me that I will love it but older cousins have already told me about the jail that teachers are told to call “school”. I already know about the harsh pain and cruel treatment I will have to endure once my mother drives away, but what I didn’t know was that I would actually discover something magical. I discover that I not only know how to read, but I also enjoy doing so as well.

I at first thought this was a cooking book and asked my mother “Are you trying to poison me with rotten eggs” which she replied “Just read the book and find out”. So I did as I was told and found a quiet and peaceful spot and began to read. At the end of the story I found out that my mom wasn’t trying to poison me, but she was actually trying to inspire me to read more of Dr.Seuss’ many books.
