Ekwefi was with Okonkwo throughout some very important and tragic moments that might have had something to do with what happens at the end of the book. Therefore, there are many important characters in the book "Things Fall Apart".
Just as there are major characters in "Things Fall Apart", there are also minor characters. Some minor characters are Nwoye, Ezinma, Ikemefuna, Mr.Brown, Unoka, and Ojiugo. Nwoye is Okonkwo's oldest son. Okonkwo believes that Nwoye is weak and lazy which is why he beats him. Ezinma is Ekwefi's only child since her other nine children didn't survive for very long. Ikemefuna is the boy that was given to the village after committing an offense against Umofia. Mr.Brown is the first white person to travel to Umofia with the intentions of promoting Christianity. Unoka is Okonkwo's father. As I previously stated, Okonkwo was very scared of being like his father. Ojiugo is Okonkwo's third wife and also the youngest. Okonkwo became known by throwing Amalinze the Cat, a wrestler. Afterwards, a clan offended Umofia and instead of starting a war, the clan gave Umofia a virgin and a boy. The boy's name was Ikemefuna. He was given to Umofia so that he could be sacrificed, but while he was living with Okonkwo, he became very close with Okonkwo's family.
