The Importance Of Parmelee
The places we come from reflect who are at our core. The information from the past helps create a picture of our true origins and to rediscover lost culture. Our roots show how and why we act the way many people do differently. The many surnames, let alone America represent a significant amount of cultures around the world. Surnames are proof that America is a diverse melting pot of knowledge. Who really knows if we all are from the same county? Migration and adapting to new climates could be the answer. Many good theories vary yet what we do know is that all of our surnames are unique to the individual it is given to.

    Sanders explains, although we may come from one certain place they are all looked at equally. As the author starts to grow older he begins to notice the differences in land from region to region. Sanders says that “With every journey I took, the world seemed larger and more various” (155).
