Everyone thinks that they are right, no matter what happens. Automatically they only think of themselves and their situation. They don't care what the other person thinks or feels. But understanding and seeing the situation from someone else's point-of-view may help resolve a conflict that could eventually lead to violence or something way worse. It is important to look at the situation from another's point-of-view because you can see just exactly what you would do or say if you reverse the situation. By just assuming you are right and everyone else is wrong is not the way to go. It can cause many many problems for people you know or maybe you don't even know them. One situation can lead to another, and another, and eventually you've caused one big ruckus that could've been avoided.
Flip the situation around and put yourself in the other person's shoes. Imagine how you would react, feel, and what you would do if that was to happen to you. Put yourself in the other person's shoes and see how the situation would effect you. When you do this, you could then realize how you were wrong. And by admitting that you were wrong you could save not only yourself but others trouble and conflict in the long run. This might not always be helpful though.

“It is one of the commonest of mistakes to consider that the limit of our power of perception is also the limit of all there is to perceive.”(Leadbeater) Many people believe the way something is perceived, is always the way that it appears to be. In reality, there might be more to a person he is willing to show. If we assume that the way someone or something is seen is always as it appears to be, we would be lying to ourselves. A surplus of people are not exactly how they are seen to be. We should not judge someone too harshly as we may not have all of the facts or details of what is really happening to a person. Perceptions can override our abilities to correctly judge our peers and even ourselves, which can be very impactful.…

In Avi's book, Nothing But the Truth, there is a quote from a Shakespearian play. Brutus says, "No Cassius; for the eye sees not itself/But by reflection, by some other things." I think that in deeper terms, this means that a person cannot see how he or she acts unless someone acts the same way or describes it to them. This quote can be applied to the story because Philip Malloy, the main character cannot see himself clearly. In that way, I am like Philip Malloy. I have no perception of whether my actions have positive or negatives effects and always assume that I am right.…

People see themselves differently from how they see others. They are immersed in their own sensations, emotions, and cognitions at the same time that their experience of others is dominate by what can be observed externally. This basic asymmetry has broad consequences. It leads people to judge themselves and their own behavior differently from how they judge others and the others behavior. Often, those differences produce disagreement and conflict. Understanding the psychological basis of those differences may help mitigate some of their negative effects.…

People’s experiences will shape how they see things. Even if I sat down every person and listened to his or her life story I still would not understand everyone. However, I can still accept that everyone has had a completely separate experience from me. I believe everyone has a perspective and that gives people different insight into life. Also, the speaker urges new adults to be more considerate of other's opinions. In other words, having conflicting views does not always mean one person or the other has the wrong opinion. He explains, "...the exact same experience can mean two totally different things to two different people, given those people's two different belief templates and two different ways of constructing meaning from experience". Therefore, Wallace suggests that people think thoroughly about the actual meaning of such situations, rather than base new opinions on what they already believe to be true.…

Perception is the way we look at things. Perception is much more than sensing; it is interpreting, processing, and reacting. The powers that have produced or trained our characteristics by instilling beliefs, values, and viewpoints which we have accepted without dispute serve as perceptual obstructions. Many people do not take into consideration others opinions without asking for them. The situations in which one is less of an individual (because of these influences) occur when they decline to comprehend someone else's opinion, or look for other points of view, because of something they have been trained to accept as truth.…
