The Importance Of The Declaration Of Independence

As Americans the day of July 4 has a very great importance to us. It is the day we became independent. On July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed. Eleven years later the Constitution was born. 26 years after that the Bill Of Rights was added to the Constitution. These three documents represent what it means to be an American. The Declaration of Independence was made to free ourselves from the rule of the King. The Constitution was written to make sure the government that was being created would not resemble the ruling of a king. They wanted to make sure that they had a strong government, yet not too strong. This document gives government their power, but also limits it. It also gives power to the people, so they aren’t ruled by government. The Bill
President Trump made a 90-day ban on certain countries. People cannot leave the United States to go to those countries, nor can people from those countries leave to come to America. As a form of protest many people are making signs that state their opinion. Not only are they protesting, but the state of Washington has began a lawsuit against President Trump. Though this ban has not stopped many people. Many as a form of protest are traveling to another country to be able to fly to the United States. This is an example of peaceful resistance to law. I feel as though this is acceptable due to the fact that no one is being harmed during the protest, but I still do not believe this is the best way to express your opinion. We live in a country in where we have people that represent us at the capital. If we ever disagree with a law being passed or something the government had done we also have more options than protesting. As an alternative to marching or protesting we can also take the initiative to actually write a letter or email to our congress. We have the liberty of being able to write to our senators and our representatives, and
