Well, let me tell you something, ladies and gentlemen, the whole society has a problem with appreciating little things in life. It's the same thing with the toilet paper, other called toilet tissue- we don't really appreciate it until we don't have it. Think about it. You get up in the morning, you drink your coffee, you run to the bathroom, you sit on the lavatory ... and you discover: there's no toilet paper whatsoever. I'm sure that all of you have such a crisis at least once in your lifetime. I ask, then what do you do? Of course, there are several alternatives: you could cry your lung out hoping that someone in the house would hear and bring you some, you could use the newspaper you've just red, you could use, I don't know cotton buds, a towel or you could simply wash the dirt off. But every other thing you'd use simply doesn't take your body shape and you don't feel comfortable with it, do you? You know that toilet paper would have been the best thing for you at that particular moment. And what is even more devastating is that the lack of toilet paper spares you of an old good ritual: you rip the paper, you fold it gently and you clean yourself nice and easy.
The toilet paper producers know this thing all too very well and they try their best to come up with ever better versions: flavoured paper coloured and, especially double layered, because nobody likes to get his/her finger right trough the toilet paper during the process. Toilet paper producers know this; that's why they made dozens of experiments and came up with the perfect measures: 14 cm in length, 10 cm in breadth. But, no, we don't see this! We refuse to see it, as we do with every other problem of this planet. You know, the only ones who really appreciate the toilet paper are the older people who always get some to put in the car when they go on a trip. They, too, know that a napkin, especially if it is a mint flavoured one is not a good alternative.
This is the kind of attitude that we have to adopt, because, ladies and gentlemen, toilet paper represents a peak in the development of our society. I do not know the circumstances in which it was invented, but I think that the British were so envious on the Chinese for inventing the paper in the first place, that they said "You know what? Your paper is only good for wiping my dirt off!" And that's probably how they thought of making the toilet paper. A little bit late, I would say, considering the fact that it only appeared in the late 19th century, in 1880 to be more accurate, and it was first produced by a Scottish company The British Perforated Paper Company. This is how much it took for the humankind to think of something so useful, so perfect as toilet paper. Think about it! The steam engine was invented more than a century before. And now, look at it! It simply flourished. It became the very purpose our fight against pollution. There are some hidden aspects of recycling, you know? Where did you think that all those books and newspapers and copybooks and magazines thrown away went to? The answer is simple: the wonderful, environment friendly toilet paper.
And there is more to it. The toilet paper protects you from flies and there is no need to get into details here. But the most important quality of toilet paper, as obvious as it seems, it's that it cleans us, it purifies us. And this is just physical toilet paper. But the humankind has to think further of a spiritual one. Imagine you had such a thing - the whole painful talk and all the books on philosophy would become useless. All right, I've done something wrong. I simply take a piece of spiritual toilet paper and wipe it off. With such an invention we would have no problem whatsoever with moral issues. We'd become purer and purer by day. Think about it! Toilet paper is part of our every day life and yet, it could take us where we have never dreamed before. It's our present and it could be our future. It's only up to you to make this possible.

Dee is the object of jealousy, awe, and agitation among her family members, while as an individual she searches for personal meaning and a stronger sense of self. Dee’s judgmental nature has affected Mama and Maggie, and desire for Dee’s approval runs deep in both of them—it even appears in Mama’s daydreams about a televised reunion. However, Dee does not make much of an effort to win the approval of Mama and Maggie. Unflappable, not easily intimidated, and brimming with confidence, Dee comes across as arrogant and insensitive, and Mama sees even her admirable qualities as extreme and annoying. Mama sees Dee’s thirst for knowledge as a provocation, a haughty act through which she asserts her superiority over her mother and sister. Dee is also portrayed as condescending, professing her commitment to visit Mama and Maggie no matter what ramshackle shelter they decide to inhabit. Far from signaling a brand-new Dee or truly being an act of resistance, the new persona, Wangero, comes across as an attention-seeking ploy in keeping with Dee’s usual selfishness. Dee says she is reclaiming her heritage, but she has actually rejected it more violently than ever before.…

The porcelain throne, the pot, the pooper, the potty, the latrine, the toilet. That is something we don’t give much thought to, unless something is wrong with it. What about the shower or the sink? How often to do you go to your sink to get a glass of water and wonder “Am I drinking someone’s poo? Will it be clean today or will I get sick?” I know for myself, I rarely give this any thought at all and I can honestly say that I have never worried that my drinking water would be contaminated by feces. However, for many around the world, this is a constant concern. Many today either don’t have access to clean water or don’t have access to very much water at all. They openly defecate, as well as drink, cook, and bathe in contaminated water. This causes several life threatening diseases and illnesses. I will discuss the water and sanitation issues in under developed countries, as well as what is being done to improve these situations.…

Wirthlin's telephone survey found that 94% of respondents (1004 adults) claimed they always wash up after using the restroom. The observational survey viewed 6333 adults in public restrooms in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, New Orleans and San Francisco (3236 males and 3097 females) and found that only 68%, in fact, did so." If another 32% of people would realize that washing your…
