In Joshua Chapter 1 verse9 it states that “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Driving in and of itself is unsafe in its nature. The only thing keeping you connected to the ground is just four small patches of rubber. That is exactly why we should not take more risks while driving. Sure it may seem like you have layer of steel protecting you, but when you look at it, there is really not a lot between you and the ground when your going 50 miles an hour. The hazards of not following the rules of the road can be devastating. Not only can unsafe driving cause you to get a ticket and points against your license but it can also cause serious injury and sadly death in some cases. Must accidents are preventable by doing a few small things to insure your safety? I believe I read somewhere that some 95% of all accidents are driver error, which means nearly every single accident that occurs can be prevented by driving safely.…
I conducted an interview regarding CSA Jerard Hunt in store 14111 regarding violation of the Be Safe Policy. Subject jumped behind the counter and CSA Hunt prevented the individual from leaving the area by dashing back and forth. I interviewed CSA Hunt who appeared not fully aware of the Be Safe policy. Manager Carmine stated that he reviewed the policy with CSA Hunt multiple times; however, there were no dates on any of CSA’s Hunts Be Safe policy acknowledgment. Additionally, other employees were missing the dates on the Be Safe acknowledgment. Just giving you a heads up.…

The Roman Empire was one of the largest empires the world has ever seen. The power and size they managed to obtain has been a constant subject of interest for historians and all those who are interested in history. Julius Caesar’s ascension to power marked the time from where the Romans steadily expanded their territory and by the time the Roman Republic dissolved and the Roman Empire emerged, the Empire had become so big that the Romans had then to face the problem of maintaining their empire. The Roman Empire maintained its power by romanizing everyone and everything they conquered, through good governance, client kings and their skilled military.…

Is the U.S really as safe as we think it is post 9/11? Some would say 9/11 is one of the most tragic events to ever happen to this country, and many would agree. Looking at how things have changed in this country to prevent events like these from happening again makes it obvious to realize that this country will do whatever it takes to make the people safer. The question is are we actually safer? and are the liberties that we sacrifice worth the security that we gain? After reading through numerous articles and statistics of whether people are actually safer or not the answer is we will never know. Through most of the publicity and some of the failed terrorist attacks like the time square bombing we might know that those attacks have been stopped. What we don’t know is how many attacks have we deterred? How many terrorists have we stopped from even attempting there attacks? Because knowing the security they have to go through is close to impossible.…
When I think of railroads and trains, I am in awe. I love them so much. But with the love I have for them, it holds me to higher responsibilities. I know how dangerous they are and should not fool around them . That also includes no horsing around railroad crossings. Trains are going too fast and are too big to just stop suddenly. One of the videos talked about a train conductor and asked him about railroad crossing safety. He mentioned that he had actually taken a life because the person was not aware that there was a train coming at 45 miles per hour. To many accidents happen with trains and other vehicles for too many times that we can prevent. The guy mentioned that maybe if the person simply looked both ways to see the train, he would have never hit the vehicle and accidentally kill that person. What I noticed in the second video is that friends were there to help them make the right choices, usually the passenger or the friend leading the other one. It is good that the friend is their to help, but what will that person do when they are alone without the guidance and wisdom from their friends. They will become the one of many causalities that we could have prevented. We should all be the person that recognizes the dangers whether we be the driver or the passenger. Now when we cross railroads we should be wary of a trains presence and look for one whether the lights are shining or not. What if the power is not working? You could be dead or seriously injured. We need to make sure we can see not only in our direct vision but our peripheral vision as well. So if that means you have to become uncool for all of 5 seconds and take of your hood, then do it. It is not worth a life to be cool. You should be able to hear the train as well not just see it or the lights flashing but to hear the sound of the engine or horn. No song is that important to listen to, no beat is good enough then your life. 10 times out of 10, whenever a human being has challenged a train, they…
“True religion comes from the heart. It is a deep relationship with God, and should bring peace and joy and love to people, not fear and guilt and meanness. And worship has meaning only when it is free. God is not honored by worship that is forced under threat of sin or penalty. Nor is God honored by subservient obedience to religious laws devoid of love. God is pleased only by the free expression of the soul that truly loves Him. Anything less is counterfeit and serves only the short-term needs of religious institutions.” Joshua clearly expresses his points of view on religion in the book Joshua: A Parable for Today written by Joseph F. Girzone. This quote is significant to the book because this book challenges, or solidifies, your faith. It proves that maybe there is more to today’s religion than just going to church and following rules. This book is a wake-up call to “self-serving” christians.…
Americans take pride in their individual freedoms above safety. We as Americans have fought for our freedom since the building of our great nation. In the past, the people of America took pride in their freedom as a nation and a group of people. During the time, safety was an irrelevant issue. However, as time progressed to what we consider a contemporary society; safety became a co-existing factor in the systematic balance. Constant threats and dreadful attacks have been made by people because they were considered to have “too much freedom”. Safety in our everyday lives did not become prompted until people have taken drastic measures to ensure their freedom. Drastic measures have been taken by people because “too much” freedom was placed into the hands of the people. The correlation of freedom and safety now lingers onto a thin delicate balance that can be toppled when there is too much of freedom or safety. In today’s contemporary society, people not only want freedom, but they also feel the need for safety in their everyday lives. H. L. Mencken (1880–1956) wrote, “The average man does not want to be free. He simply wants to be safe.” His statement over the topic may have been true for the time, but in today’s society, matters have changed dramatically in that safety and freedom are needed.…
If I was invited to present a TEDtalk I would speak about the importance of public safety. Public safety lately, has been at an all time low. With the recent events of mass violence that have occurred, this is an issue that must be discussed at length in order to educate the public and prevent future events. We must take the necessary steps to take the state of public safety in the US back to its originally gold standard. This can be achieved through respecting one another, changing how shooting are reported in the media, and reporting suspicious activity.…
Since America's inception, freedom and safety have been vital parts of society. Especially today, people debate on which concept is valued to a greater extent. H. L. Mencken once wrote, “The average man does not want to be free. He simply wants to be safe”. This observation does not exactly apply to today's society for numerous individuals desire freedoms without considering their own safety. Whether it is regarding people's right to privacy, race rights, gun control, and an assortment of other topics, people seem to crave certain freedoms, even if it is at the cost of their own safety.…

Photographs are taken with the simple push of a button and allow us to reflect, remember, and perhaps mourn the past. America, as a whole, love photographs. People around the country take pictures on their iPhone's and post them to social media regularly. They’re an influential part in our everyday lives, so common that some may take them for granted. Before the quick snap of a digital photo was possible, people knew the luxury of this technology. Ever since I was a child, history has intrigued me and has remained influential in my life. My past, my ancestors, and world history are all fascinating. When photos were first integrated into society, political figures like Theodore Roosevelt would sit still for hours in order…
