The Interior Monologue
It was March, but still frigid in Detroit. With the humming of the heater and the strong rustic winds outside, it was still quiet and calm. There sat 16 year old Veronica Skyes on her bed with her laptop, typing away. The constant pitter patter of her delicate hands bouncing on the keys sounded relaxing. Her room was pretty clean, other than the pile of clothes in the corner of her closet. She had blue walls, and a galaxy painted on her ceiling in her bedroom. “Maya you need to calm down.” Veronica said “Everything is going to be fine.”

“Maya, breathe.” Veronica instructed. She could tell Maya was about to faint.
“Okay,” replied Maya. She took deep breaths in and out.
“Are you okay now?” said Veronica.
“Ya I’m fine,” said Maya “Let’s check on everyone else.”
Maya and Veronica went around checking if everyone was okay and calming them down. Once everyone had collected their thoughts they joined around Maya and she started speaking.
“Okay, first of all, does anyone know how we got here?” said Maya.
Someone from the crowd yelled “Ya everything was black then we ended up here.”
“I’m pretty sure that happened to all of us.” said Maya. Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.
“Actually I was stuck in this neon green worm hole thing for about an hour.” said Veronica.
Everyone seemed shock.
“Wait what?” said Maya.
“Ya. When I woke up everything was neon green. I tried escaping and yelling but nothing happened.” she recalled “Then I saw a mark on my hand that wasn’t there before, it was a black swan. Here
