A mobile phone (also known as cellular phone, cell phone or handphone), which is a device that can make and receive telephone calls over a radio link around the world. Cell phones connect cellular network from the mobile phone operator. It then allows access to the world-wide network. Compared with a cordless phone, it is only used within a short range of a private base station.
The first mobile phone was showed by John F. Mitchell and Dr Martin Cooper of Motorola in 1973, using a handset weighing around 1 kg. The second generation (2G) cellular technology was initiated by Radiolinja on the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) standard, which had been defeated the incumbent 1G network operators in 1991. In 2009, 3G networks (3rd generation of mobile telecommunications technology) would be owerpowered by the growth of bandwidth-intensive applications. 4G system (4th generation of mobile phone mobile communication technology standards) was developed in 2001 or 2002 and began to appear in 2011.

With the advancement of science and technology, modern mobile phones also support a variety of other services. For example, text messaging, MMS, email, Internet access, short-range wireless communications such as infrared and Bluetooth, business applications, gaming, music and photography.
Days by days, mobile phone had became the important part of our lives as it brings a lot of convenient and also advantages to us. Mobile phones provide us with the ability to stay connected with our family, colleagues, buddies and others at anytime and anywhere not only through calls, SMS and e-mails but also 3G. Apart from that, mobile phone is very useful when we are in emergencies as we can contact someone during emergency easily. It also functioned as storage of data, alarm, memo and also transfer data.

In contrast, mobile phones also brings disadvantages to men. For instance, men are addicted to the use of mobile phones. Youngsters are addicted to the games that had been installed in the internal storage of the mobile phone and keep on chatting with peers through SMS even having their dinner. Cyber-bullying also happened caused by the use of mobile phone. Moreover, long-term use of the mobile phone will affect our healths like causing cancer and so on.
