Charles Krypell started as a sculptor before turning his focus to jewelry and this is evident in the pieces he designs. They are easily distinguished by their perfect balance and exquisiteness,a as the different elements flow seamlessly. His goal with each piece is to create a work of art that is meant to be worn, one that can be enjoyed from multiple dimensions and approaches. When one visits a St. Petersburg FL Charles Krypell Jeweler, they see that details on the various pieces encompass all sides to ensure proper movement, flow and balance. Krypell designs for the collector rather than the consumer, and this shows in every piece of his collection.…
In 1997, in his backyard studio, Ah Xian began to make porcelain busts on plaster casts he made over the figures of friends and family. He then glazed these busts with traditional hand-painted Chinese designs. Since 1999 he has collaborated with Chinese artisans in Jingdezhen (the historical centre of China's fine porcelain production), who paint the traditional designs that he selects after research in pattern books. He used their expertise to decorate the three-dimensional works of the human figure in his series called China China.…

John Shipley is a very interesting character in Margaret Laurence's novel, The Stone Angel. The story is written from the point of view of Hagar Shipley, who is John's mother. We see John as he is portrayed through his mother's eyes. Hagar loved her son very much and it is possible her view of him is bias because of this. In this novel John Shipley is portrayed to us as being smart, cold and wild.…

Gina Berriault’s “The Stone Boy” is an intricate examination of a family coping with tragedy. In a key passage of the story, Arnold hides out in the barn as his family goes to search for Eugene. Arnold’s physical separation from his family is symbolic of the emotional distance that escalates through the story, culminating in the strained relationship illustrated in the resolution of the conflict. This passage is crucial to understanding the theme of the story which is that while grief presents itself in many forms, comfort and understanding are essential elements in the healing process and if these basic human needs are not met, grief will manifest itself as an isolating and divisive factor.…

The story is about a boy called Arnold, he is 9 years old. It says in the text “Arnold went into the barn” which makes me think that he has grown up on a farm, he lives there with his parents, and his bigger brother Eugene. Arnold is a normal boy, with an interest in weapons, like many boys have. I’m guessing Arnold sees his brother like quite an idol, because in the beginning of the text, he is so eager for his brother to go pick peas with him (“get up, you said you’d pick peas with me”). It would have meant nothing for him to pick peas, if it was not because it was time with his brother. When Arnold shoots Eugene, I do not know if it actually is on purpose, because it is quite clear that the mother cares a lot more for Eugene than for Arnold. Maybe he is jealous, I know the 3th person narrator says it is by accident, but I still have my doubt.…

This term I have been reading Chinese Cinderella, an autobiography by Adeline Yen Mah. It is a touching story about the life of an unwanted daughter living with her grandparents, aunt, siblings and her horrid father and stepmother. Ever since her mother died due to her birth, all her siblings renamed her ‘bad luck charm’. All her life Adeline had been mistreated, unloved and never acknowledged. The issue I would like to discuss is about family relationships and its impact.…
The native Americans in the article The Story-Telling Stone and the Americans are similar because the respect for elders never change. In the story The Story-Telling Stone, the stone states that “All the people in the village must come and listen to my stories”, it indicates that everyone in that village are interested in listen the stone’s stories. Similarly, modern Americans are willing to listen the elders’ suggestion. For example, people will let their parents see their girlfriend or boyfriend before they have marriage. In this way, we know both the people in The Story-Telling Stone and modern America respect elders.…
It was difficult to move people away from home jewelers. Traditionally consumers prefer to go to jewelers who give them confidence and faith that they will get what they pay for especially when people do not have tools or methods to know the purity of the gold ornaments. Tanishq realized this and built strategy to first break the association of consumers with traditional family jeweler by advertising the fakeness and flaws of traditional…
