The Junior High School Model

The junior high school model involves meetings between teachers based on subject area. All math teachers meet, all social studies teachers meet, and so on. There is a chair who coordinates the meeting. The strength of this model is that it allows all teachers in a subject area to be on the same page. It allows for the exchange of ideas, materials, and instruction. They can also plan lessons and curriculum mapping. This can assure that all students are learning the same material and are up to date on state expectations.
