“The Last Night,” by Ray Bradbury, is about the world ending, and what the characters do with their last hours alive. This text has many different interpretations. Some say that the story’s message is about the calm acceptance of death, others say that it is their complacency that brings about the end of the world. I feel that this story is about the complacency of the character’s lives - how the characters are not shocked by impending doom and go on with their mechanized routine. The characters are going about their normal lives, when the husband finally tells the wife about the dream that all of the men at work had, the dream about the world ending.
