Did you know that in the next year, more technology will be invented than all that has been invented in the past century? This startling fact can be hard for many people to believe! In the last century we have seen drastic improvements in technology and the creations of countless new communication devices. Technology is growing at incredibly fast speeds and those speeds are only accelerating. These new technologies have allowed for people to complete tasks in new ways and from the comforts of their homes! With these improvements has come the argument about whether the limitation of human contact due to the use of technology has had positive or negative effects on people's lives. It can be seen in most activities and skills that when people have less time to engage in any activity or skill, they will better appreciate the little time they have; causing them to be more effective. An example of something's value increasing once lost, is seen in people that were musicians or athletes as children. They had much more time to practice their skills when they were younger and so they did not value that time as much as they later on wish they would have. Once they are older, working, and providing for themselves and their families, they have less time to spend on their hobbies and skills causing them to take advantage of the little time they have. People now acknowledge that they have limited time to have human contact with each other which is causing them to use the time they have much more wisely. This benefit of increased productivity is seen all throughout society in the fact that meetings, whether on the local or federal level, have schedules and set outlines of what issues will be discussed in the specific meeting.
