The Locket Ending
the ending of the locket was a happy one, I cannot say I was surprised, and that I also believed the young soldier had been kill in battle. I did not foresee that the locket might have been stolen nor did I believe it had been lost along the way. I would have to with Edmonds belief that it had been stolen the first detail that led me to believe Edmond might be alive was judge Pilliers mention of miracles. That when I said to my self this is going to be a happy ending

the author set the stage right from the beginning of the story when she describes the locket as a good luck charm “that’s a charm some kind of hoodoo business that one of them priests gave him to keep him out of trouble” later when I found out that they found the soldier dead

There was a faint buzzing sound then the frog was gone as quickly as it had come. Silence once again fell on the river much to Lennie’s disappointment, he liked not having to think of the mornings happenings.…

    6. Were you surprised by the twist? If so, why? Yes, I was surprised at the twist because I thought the wife was dead, but at the end " The ribbon with which he had bound the wrist were broken; the hands were tightly clenched." Now in the end we want to live in a world where we all get along. Locke helps supports why Mary should take down the poster, so she will continue to get along with her neighbors. If Mary discards her poster then the tension between the neighbors will eventually disappear and continue to get along. An example of Locke's approach would be gun violence. If we have everyone shooting each other Locke would say to get rid of guns, because then we would stop the violence and get along. If Mary follows Locke and removes the poster from her door then their will peaceful among the two…

"How did you feel about the ending? What did you like, what did you not like, and what do you wish had been different?" I was not expecting the ending to end like that, I was shocked because in the book Amanda’s son does not find out whose heart he has because his did not want to tell him. She knew it was Dawson heart but decided to keep it a secret from him. Something I wish I would of change is that Dawson survived and Amanda’s son got someone else's heart.…

The conclusion of "The Locket" was not predictable at all. As first reading the book, it was surprising and emotional. It was under the impression, Edmond had died on the battle field. As well it is recalled, that when Octavie sat in the cabriolet, I thought she was on her way to pay respect to Edmond. The author held readers suspense as she describes the details of the battle field before the locket was found, the letter the priest sent, and the ride to Edmond.…

“If I can but reach that bridge,” thought Ichabod, “I am safe.” The church bridge was rickety looking, but was the only way to safety. Ichabod could feel the hot breath of the black steed cutting close behind him. Petrified, he convulsively kicked in the ribs of old Gunpowder and they took off like lightening towards the bridge. Ichabod had cast a look behind him to see if his followers had vanished. Just then, the goblin rider had a pumpkin with fire on top of his head as though it was his own. I think the reason is the foundation that allows us to build a happy life and that this must be exercised since not always easy to distinguish something good out of something bad.…

The moment when Mme. Loisel and M. Loisel “took the case to the jeweler whose name they found inside. He consulted his records.’I didn’t sell the necklace, madame,’ he said. ‘I only supplied the case.’”(32). Mme. Loisel and her husband are both convinced the necklace is real due to the looks of the costume jewel and the case. We, after all know the necklace does not belong to the case which implies the necklace is not that expensive. The most distinct foreshadowing the necklace is inexpensive is Mme. Forestier’s reaction. As Mme. Loisel lost Mme. Forestier’s necklace, her husband tells “her you have broken the catch and are having it repaired. That will give us a little time to turn around’”(32). Just as, Mme. Loisel returned the decoy necklace to Mme. Forestier, her reaction is, “‘You should have brought it back sooner; I might have needed it.’”(33). Mme. Forestier reaction to it all, foreshadows that if the necklace was valuable, she would have been more worried and paranoid. Regardless of their mistake, they were hinted multiple times, yet they failed to think it is not real because they were outplayed by the…

Edmond considered that the messmate, who didn't talk the entire time, was probably the one who stole the locket.''I thought of course I had lost it in the heat of the struggle, but it was stolen.'Edmond said nothing; but he thought of his messmate; the one who had lain far back in the shadow; the one who had said nothing." Edmond's comrade seemed to be plotting to steal the locket. Earlier, Edmond had a dream about a snake around his neck, which could have been when the unnamed soldier stole the locket and died later in the battle. "He dreamt of a serpent coiling around his throat, and when he strove to grasp it the slimy thing glided away from his…
