The Lorax Research Paper
The Lorax a guardian and a Jesus Christ figure. The Lorax is the guardian of nature, mother nature, his job is to protect the truffula tree. When the Once-ler cut down the tree the Lorax came down from the sky to set the Once-ler in place. Lorax wanted to show Once-ler that nature is something to respect and not to destroy. He gave the Once-ler a chance to accept his agreement of not cutting any more trees down for the sake of the creatures, and the Once-ler knows his actions were wrong. But, once Once-ler broke the promise between him and the Lorax, the Lorax warns him about his consequences. Though, the Lorax did not prevent Once-ler's action he did warn the Once-ler and reminded him of his broken promise. The Lorax teaches Oncer-ler that …show more content…
Second time Peter denied Jesus was when a servant said he was a follower, and he denied it. Final time, Peter was questioned by the high priest and denied Jesus, again. Both stories had the number three that signified the Bible reference. The number three is a sacred number in religions representing birth, life, and death. The Lorax's message is about the truffula trees birth, life, and death. The truffula tree begins as a tiny seed that grows into a beautiful tree, and the truffula trees died at the hands of the Once-ler. Peter denied Jesus' three times like the prophecy said. Peter's denial three times represented the birth, life, and death of Jesus Christ. In addition, the Once-ler taunted the Lorax to see his magic like the Roman soldiers taunted Jesus to have God save him and take him down from the cross. Lorax and Jesus were mocked to show their powers to prove to others their strength when in reality their strength were their voices. Their voices forever remind in the minds of the ones who taunted them because they realized they were wrong. Furthermore, when the Lorax’s time came to go a bright light came from the sky and brought the Lorax to the

How does that relate to the bible? In Exodus 3: 1-15 is the story of the burning bush. The burning bush was also on fire and not consumed by the flames, this was when God appointed Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Much like how David was then appointed a leader of Pleasantville. The only real difference is that the biblical story says that the burning bush talks to David. (The burning bush being God).…

In the New Testament the “twelve” are mentioned a total of four times (Matt 10:2-4, Mark 3:16-19, Luke 6:14-16. and Acts 1:13). The man that is listed first every time may take some people by surprise, as that man is Simon Peter. When it comes to Simon we have a lot of information about this man that would later come to be called Peter. Some things we know about Peter was that he was a Galilean fisherman, he became the chief spokesman of the Apostles, and he was one of the two strongest personalities in the New Testament along with Paul. So where does the name Peter come from anyway? The name Peter comes from the Greek “petros", which means rock. More often than not when we think about how Peter got this name we often look to Matthew 16:18, but if we look at John 1:42 we will see that Jesus gives Peter this name at their first meeting. John 1:42 states; “He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said, "You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas" (which is translated Peter).” One common theory about how Peter gained his name is that he…

Moses was keeping a flock when he is approached by the angel of the Lord. It was in the form of a burning bush, but the bush wasn 't being consumed by the fire. Moses became curious, so he turned to see why it wasn 't being consumed. When God had seen that Moses was approaching the bush he called out to him. As Moses finally got close enough to the bush, he was told to take his sandals off because he was standing on holy ground. This is where he is told to help the Israelites. God tells him to go to the Pharaoh and bring his people. God then did something that he had never done, he gave Moses a name to tell the Israelites, that name was YHWH, which meant I am who I am. God then explained to Moses that…

Susan Pfeffer’s story “Ashes” teaches a lesson about how trust is decided on past, not relationships. Ashleigh, “Ashes”, with divorced parents, talks about how when she is with her dad, the sun shines just a little bit brighter, but according to her mother, he is just an “irresponsible bum”. Ashes was a nickname her father gave her, which her mother hates. Ashes, says that her father hardly ever keeps a promise, such as when she was a kid, he told her that the stars were her necklace. One lesson the story suggests is that parent-child relationships can quickly change, depending on the choices they make.…
