In the story The Lord Of The Flies by William Golding, one theme presented is human evil.
One example is,“Roger stooped, picked up a stone, aimed, and threw it at Henry”. Therefore this would lead one to think they have evil in them. Another place human evil is shown in The Lord Of The Flies is when Ralph finally is confronted with a pig,”The desire to squeeze and hurt was over-mastering." This shows human evil because, if someone wants to, “squeeze and hurt”, anything, that can prove they have “evil” in them. Finally, one last place human evil is shown is when the boys are on the hunt and they say, “Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Kill the pig! Bash him in!'’. This shows human evil because if someone is singing about killing, that can show that they have some sort of “evil” in
them.
In the story The Lord Of The Flies by William Golding one of the themes presented is human evil, but what if that isn't the main theme, what if friendship triumphs over human evil in the story?
