The Lord Of The Flies By William Golding: Character Analysis
One very cold december night, me and my friends were walking around in a huge field, snow was everywhere, so being the kind of kids we were, we decided to have a snowball fight. It was starting to get really dark, but we still started the game. We picked two teams of 3 and began. Snowballs were flying everywhere, but someone got knocked in the head. The kid gets up and starts screaming at everyone, “WHY ARE YOU GUYS STILL PLAYING”, he screamed. “Come on dude you're fine”, one kid says. The kid who got hit in the head and marched off and said, “I'M MAKING MY OWN GAME, IF ANYONE WANTS TO COME JOIN, COME NOW”, Two kids get up and walk away with him. This is the case in The Lord Of The Flies by William Golding, a group of kids are stranded on an island, all by themselves. Ralph, being the leader sets up rules, but Jack doesn't agree and starts another group. Jack starts terrorising Ralph's group and even kills someone. With the island in flames Ralph is rescued at the end. The theme if this story is human evil. …show more content…

One example is,“Roger stooped, picked up a stone, aimed, and threw it at Henry”. Therefore this would lead one to think they have evil in them. Another place human evil is shown in The Lord Of The Flies is when Ralph finally is confronted with a pig,”The desire to squeeze and hurt was over-mastering." This shows human evil because, if someone wants to, “squeeze and hurt”, anything, that can prove they have “evil” in them. Finally, one last place human evil is shown is when the boys are on the hunt and they say, “Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Kill the pig! Bash him in!'’. This shows human evil because if someone is singing about killing, that can show that they have some sort of “evil” in

    There is no end to fear, no one can be saved from it, and nothing can make it forgotten. In William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, a group of young, British schoolboys’ plane crashes on a deserted island during a war, leaving these young boys to fend for themselves with no adults. Throughout the book, the boys are driven by their fears of the island, eventually leading them to savagery. The boys become beasts within themselves as they tear and burn the island down to ash. Once the boys have lost all sense of humanity, and they stand amongst a burning civilization, a naval officer arrives on the island to rescue them. Realizing there is no true end to the fears they have all experienced, the boys break down, sobbing as the officer stands, waiting to take them all back to a war stricken world.
