The Lucky One You can tell by the authors name that “The Lucky One,” is a romance novel. Nicholas Sparks is one of the first thing people think of when they think of a love story. From reading this book, I realized that he is very good at writing his genre. It’s probably why he sticks with it instead of trying something else. The story had a combination of humor and passion, sadness and hate. But in the end,” the lucky one” was the one that got the girl. And he was the “one” that the love story was all about. This book made me want to keep reading. I didn’t think I would be able to read it with such ease. I knew that after reading the first few pages of chapter one that the author must have made Keith Clayton and Logan Thibault (tie-bow) meet this way on purpose. Why, I didn’t know until much later in the story. “Where you from?”(7). Said Clayton “Colorado”(8). Said Thibault. He had walked all the way from Colorado to North Carolina. It took him over five months. When I found that out I figured there must be something really important drawing him there. “I’ll bet you’re going to see your girlfriend, aren’t you?”…he forced himself to turn away. “Something like that”(15). I couldn’t imagine what he meant by that. So I kept reading and reading, trying to figure it out. It wasn’t until the next chapter that I found out that he didn’t even know the person he was looking for. All he had was a photograph. He had found the picture when he was serving overseas in Kuwait. He was in the marines and he found the photo in the dry rubble near camp. Logan is very intelligent. They way that he narrowed down the search of where to look for her was remarkable. He first started with the logos of the t-shirts the people in the picture were wearing. Did some research and eventually found out that the shirt the woman in the photo was wearing was from a small college in North Carolina. His gut told him that he would find his way to what looked to be fairgrounds in the picture. He
