The Macho Paradox Katz Summary

In the study of gender , you have to be willing to learn the ins and outs of it. Gender means, the state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones). The definition itself gives insight on the differences between male and female. However, when it comes to gender, it is much deeper than that. Being aware of gender and what it brings to the table is important to live an enriched life. There’s plenty of articles, and texts about the different subtopics within gender. This makes it known that they study of gender is an ongoing process because there’s always a surprising waiting for you as a researcher. Taking this course peaked my interest because of the variety of things that come up. By using my gender lenses I will be discussing the text by Jackson Katz. Katz published, “The Macho Paradox: Why Some Men Hurt Women and and How All Men Can Help” and was respected across the nation for it. This book couldn’t have been produced without research on the current status of gender inequality. Katz discussed, domestic violence, sexual harassment, and the misfortunes about the gender inequality. This book touched people in white and communities of color because of how relatable it is to everyone.
