The author addresses the immediate impacts of the French Revolution. Also, there were proclaimed that the declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen and stated that, "all men are born and remain free and equal in their rights." This actually responded to my concerns that I mentioned above and it contributed to all free men whom have different races. The author made an interesting point that "The gens de couleur, who was considered as free persons and as property owners, continued to demand full and equal rights of citizenship with the whites." The term also referred to free people of mixed-race who mostly were European and African. It was such a powerful group to destroy the forces of whites because the numbers of The gens de couleur was far more than whites in South and they proposed the goal of equality in West. Thanks to that group, free people were allowed to vote and were encouraged to express their discontent especially slave system in Saint Domingue. Many citizens in both France and St. Domingue were obliged to live under a system of feudalism before, and the governments reaped the benefits. But one thing I want to point out is that the mixed-race people not only participated in nonviolent protest, but also violent protests. It lets me reflect that the seriousness of slavery during 17 century and the importance of slave rebellion. I hope that people are getting along very well no matter what race or skin color they are. People would not judge them by their skin color or race and they could be treated as normal people. Slaves basically were just a labor and they should be treated as nomrmal people and had the privillege of liberty. Therefore, it's important to the ridiculous and system and I agree that ablolish the
