Consider the role of television in the film; and how it used in society. What role does it play in this culture of the film and why is it preferred to reading? Usually, the parlor walls contain large wall-sized television screens. They put a screen that is as large as the wall in a particular room, and if they can get all four walls of a room covered in television screens, then you have a total and complete interactive and entertainment package. At the beginning of the movie, Mildred and Montag have three T.V. walls in their "parlor" or living room, and Mildred is hinting around to Montag that she wants yet another one. However, the cost for a T.V. wall that is exorbitant it is nearly a third of Montag's yearly salary, which makes it so expensive; so it is a hard decision to make for him and his wife.…

Clint Eastwood’s critical, box office and Academy Awards juggernaut tells the tale of Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper), a prolific, er, American sniper, and his endeavours on and off the battlefield during the Iraq war. It’s a heavily lethargic adaptation of a heavily controversial book about a heavily divisive ‘American Hero’. Not to say that the flick itself is wildly patriotic – though the ending tries its best to disprove that – but nor is it an anti-war film, as director Eastwood haplessly attempts to argue. Which is where American Sniper’s greatest fault, among many faults, lies; it’s a film that is too afraid to carry any political heft, any commentary that would make the viewing experience worthwhile. As a result, the whole point of the film is rendered null.…

The Mission was released in 1986 by producers Fernando Ghia and David Puttnam assisted by director Roland Joffé. Some of the actors consisted of Robert De Niro as Rodrigo Mendoza, the main protagonist, and Jeremy Irons as Father Gabriel. The movie, as a whole, I enjoyed very much. The character development in the beginning caught my attention and didn’t leave me constantly drifting off as other films might have. In the movie, Jesuit missionaries are trying to protect a native tribe they had converted to Christianity from Portugal who wanted to enslave the natives for their own use. Rodrigo Mendoza had to go through trials before he accepted his position as a Jesuit priest after he was given the choice by Father Gabriel…

The Cold War was a time of heightened fear in the United States because there was the looming threat of a Communist takeover. People lived in a constant state of paranoia because anyone could have been a Communist, from their neighbor to their doctor, no one knew. One of the ways Americans believed Communism made its way into the United States was through brainwashing. The concept of brainwashing threatened the idea that each individual American has agency and is making decisions under his own control. At its root, brainwashing took away a right that Americans prided themselves on, liberty. The Manchurian Candidate is a political thriller released during the height of the Cold War. The film follows Korean War veteran who returns to the United…

After watching the movie Conspiracy, I found it to be a very interesting movie in terms of the way the Director, Frank Pierson, wanted this movie to be portrayed when it came to the Wannsee Conference.
