It is evident in history that coloured people have never been treated fairly; we were deemed as less than the non-coloured and probably were not even considered to be human. We suffered as slaves and indentured servants. Even after the abolition of slavery, we had to fight to be considered equals. Society has now evolved and in modern times we see friendlier co-operation between coloured and non-coloured people.
