Imagine being able to tell if someone was evil or good. In “The Milgram Experiment” they prove they can prove whether people are evil or good. In the test they have volunteer teachers come and help the learner learn. If the learner gets the question wrong the teacher is told to give them a painful shock. If the teacher continues, even after the learner pleads for them to stop, their evil. 77% of the volunteers completed the test. In one of the trials the participant didn’t speak up about the problem until her partner speaks up for himself. One participant didn’t speak up about the problem until her partner spoke up for himself. The teacher was afraid of speaking up and saying she doesn’t want to continue with the test. But when her partner speaks up for himself she gets enough confidence to speak up for herself also. This proving that she is a good person because she had good intentions but she was just scared to speak up for herself and the learner. She didn’t want to hurt the learner anymore, but she was afraid of what authority might say; she felt pressured. Although she was scared to speak up for herself she still refused to go any further with the test.
