What is Cinema?
Life is dynamic. It provides memories of the past and dreams of the future. However, it is unfortunate that life is not everlasting in this world. Memories can be passed down through photos and storytelling, but the livid dreams we have are hard to express fully and hand down through generations. Writing can help pass these thoughts and ideas down, but the reader may not develop the exact image in their mind. This is where the miracle of cinema gave life new meaning. Cinema is visually and emotionally moving. The audience is seeing the work of a dreamer, who has created a story, idea, or concept. In addition, the audience absorbs the visual presentation with their eyes and ears. The moving scenes take the audience away from their current environment. The audience forgets about what is happening in their own lives. Moreover, the audience is held captive to the cinematic experience. Cinema is a very important part of our world. It is an educational tool that supplements learning by taking the classroom into the world that is being studied. Cinema also entertains the audience. It provides laughter and joy, and also suspense and sorrow. The emotions of life are expressed through cinema, and it is delivered it to the audience’s heart. One of the most important philosophies of cinema is that even if the film is watched by a group, it is an individual experience. Each audience member views the story of the motion picture in a slightly different manner. Different events and characters effect us differently. Sometimes the film provides moments that we directly relate to our own lives. Cinema may be what provides some with ideas or connections to our own lives. Some may see cinema as only a form of entertainment. I see cinema as the complete form of presenting imagination. In my opinion, cinema is one of the most efficient ways to communicate ideas.
